Does Ser Criston Cole really die like that in the books? It felt like the show sidelined him this season, and for someone who was one of the most important characters early on, his death came and went surprisingly fast.

Is that how George R.R. Martin wrote it, or did the show change things?..And if it was changed, do you think it was simply an adaptation choice, or could there have been some behind-the-scenes reason they wrapped up his story so quickly?
