Protesters in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province clashed with police over the imposition of governor’s rule, citing the local government’s alleged failure to crack down on Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan fighters. Police fired on protesters, injuring at least five people.

Multiple PTI workers have been injured—several in critical condition—after Khyber Bara police fired directly at peaceful protesters.

Asim Munir’s military-backed regime and its handlers are using live ammunition against peaceful demonstrations to protect their power. For four years since the regime change, anyone taking to the streets in peaceful protest has been met with direct gunfire.

Never in Pakistan’s history have live bullets been fired directly at peaceful demonstrators within their own country. The violent crackdown is a war for personal power that comes at the direct expense of the nation.
