Evidence-based current events analysis rooted in Scripture: equipping you to stand firm in Bible truth, recognize deceptions, and prepare for Christ’s return.
What appears on the surface to be a government commission created to “𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙮” becomes something far more consequential once you actually read the documents, examine who is involved, understand the constitutional history, and ask where these recommendations could ultimately lead.
At the center of this investigation is the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, established by President Trump in May 2025 and housed within the Department of Justice. Its draft report runs 224 pages, follows seven hearings and testimony from more than 100 witnesses, and was largely developed through hearings held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick serves as Chairman, with former HUD Secretary and Seventh-day Adventist Dr. Ben Carson serving as Vice Chairman. But perhaps more consequential than either name is the structure itself: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘅 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗗𝗢𝗝 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.
And this is where things become extremely important. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧-𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩’𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙬𝙤-𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚 𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 “𝙨𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚.”
That is not buried on page 200. It is recommendation number one.
The report goes on to recommend a DOJ Religious Liberty Task Force, new religious-liberty reporting mechanisms, updated Attorney General guidance, strategic litigation, and challenges to existing laws and judicial precedents the Commission believes improperly restrict religion.
The language used throughout the report deserves just as much attention. Instead of simply arguing that religious Americans should be protected from government interference, the Commission openly challenges the traditional “wall of separation” model. One section moves directly from “Building Walls of Separation between Church and State” to “Building Bridges Between Church and State.” The report argues that church and state can “strengthen and support one another” and speaks of establishing a more “rightly ordered relationship” between them.
That should immediately raise a basic question: 𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺?
We go back to the Constitution to answer that question.
Article VI explicitly declares that “𝙣𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙” 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. Four years later, the First Amendment added two enormous protections: the Establishment Clause—“𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙬 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣”—and the Free Exercise Clause—𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Interestingly, the exact phrase “separation of church and state” does not appear in the Constitution, but neither do phrases such as “separation of powers,” “checks and balances,” “presumption of innocence,” or even “right to a fair trial.” 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴, not necessarily direct quotations from the text.
We also look at a fascinating constitutional detail that rarely receives attention: Article I explicitly says “Sundays excepted” when calculating the President’s ten-day period for signing legislation. Sunday was therefore recognized procedurally from the beginning—but 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. That distinction becomes critical when discussing where religious liberty ends and religious establishment begins.
The episode then examines the very court cases often ignored when people argue that the “wall of separation” has somehow persecuted Christianity. Everson v. Board of Education invoked strong church-state separation language while still ruling in favor of families sending their children to Catholic schools. In other words, separation did not require hostility toward religion. Sherbert v. Verner protected Seventh-day Adventist Adele Sherbert after she lost employment because she refused to violate the Saturday Sabbath. And in Groff v. DeJoy, the Supreme Court strengthened protections for an employee seeking accommodation for Sunday observance.
𝗣𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀-𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀.
That brings us to perhaps the most important question in the entire episode:
𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣—𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚?
That distinction becomes especially important when we examine the growing influence of Catholic integralist thought, where some writers openly reject complete separation between Church and State and defend the idea that religious authority can legitimately exercise coercive power under certain circumstances. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹” 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. If Christians are already free to preach, worship, evangelize, build churches, operate schools, publish literature, petition government, and keep their Sabbath, then what additional “liberty” is supposedly being denied?
And then there is the Department of Justice.
If America were ever to cross the line from protecting religion into legally enforcing religious observance, what federal department would ultimately investigate violations, litigate the cases, defend the laws, and potentially prosecute those who refused to comply? Would it not be the DOJ? And before such a system could function, wouldn't that department first need the legal guidance, constitutional interpretation, litigation strategy, institutional infrastructure, and favorable precedent necessary to defend it?
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
We are not claiming the Religious Liberty Commission has proposed a Sunday law. It has not. The report does not command Americans to worship on Sunday, and accuracy matters enormously here. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗢𝗝 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀.
The question is not simply, “Is there a Sunday law today?”
The question is:
If one were proposed tomorrow, what legal and institutional groundwork would have to exist first?
We also examine Project Esther, the Heritage Foundation strategy released in 2024, because it provides another revealing example of how private religious and political objectives can be translated into coordinated governmental action. Project Esther openly envisions public-private cooperation, legal pressure, federal and state involvement, litigation, institutional pressure, and government authority being used to accomplish its objectives. Whether one agrees with those objectives or not, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀—and it provides another window into how quickly an ideological framework can move from private policy papers into actual governmental infrastructure.
There has perhaps never been a more important time to understand the difference between religious influence and religious coercion, between protecting Christianity and empowering government to define Christianity, and between freedom of conscience and enforced conformity.
This is exactly why The Truth Project exists.
We are willing to read the reports most people will never read, sit through the hearings most people will never watch, trace the constitutional arguments most people will never investigate, and ask the uncomfortable questions that must be asked before—not after—the consequences become obvious.
To everyone supporting this work: thank you. You make this kind of research possible. You allow us to devote the time necessary to investigate these developments carefully rather than simply chasing headlines. And most importantly, you help us continue putting the evidence in front of people while there is still time to understand what is happening.
Please watch this one all the way through. As you'll see, the details matter.

A fair objection to Jefferson: he was in France during the Convention and played no role in drafting the First Amendment. Fine. Go to the man who did.

Concede it immediately. The phrase “Separation of Church and State” is not in the Constitution.
But if that is the standard, than what are these:
Separation of powers? 𝗡𝗼
Checks and balances? 𝗡𝗼
Judicial review? 𝗡𝗼
The right to a fair trial? 𝗡𝗼
The Cabinet? 𝗡𝗼
The Air Force? 𝗡𝗼
"Religious liberty"? 𝗡𝗼
God, Christ, or the Bible? 𝗡𝗼
None of these words or phrases appear in the Constitution. Constitutions do not name their own structural principles.
"Separation of powers" is the name we give to Articles I, II, and III. "Separation of church and state" is the name we give to the Establishment Clause. Neither phrase is in the document; both describe what it does.
If a principle must appear verbatim to be real, then judicial review does not exist, the Air Force is unconstitutional — and "𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆" 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The Religious Liberty Commission's own name is not in the Constitution.
And note: the word Trinity appears nowhere in the Bible. No one on this Commission would accept "the word isn't in the text" as a refutation of the Godhead. The rule is applied here and nowhere else, which means it is not a rule. It is a lever.

For centuries the church defined the offense, tried the accused, pronounced him a heretic — and then relinquished him to the secular arm, and the state carried out the sentence. The church supplied the verdict; the state supplied the fire. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, not mob violence, and it is exactly what "the authority of the state employed by the church" means.

A generation that has forgotten the disease will eventually repeal the remedy — not from malice, but from ignorance. The healing does not happen in Rome. A second power — lamblike, arising where there was no crowded, warring civilization — is the one that hands the authority back. That is the prophecy, and it is why a government report on religious liberty is worth reading closely.

That is the contrast. One side says bridges, not walls, and we are going to impose it upon you. The other says a church that reached for the state's power to control conscience became the papacy — and that compulsion is not God's method but the enemy's.
This is just the beginning of us breaking down the documentary case that the wall those men want removed is real, is textual, and was put there on purpose. Look out for new details daily.

Because it's twofold, and the second half is the one we'd rather skip.
Yes — there is a very real empire of evil at work, headed by Satan's visible kingdom on earth, working tirelessly to heal that wound. That's real. Watch it. Report on it. We will.
But Mrs. White also told us what makes a nation ripe for it: "𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩. 𝘙𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦... Here at The Truth Project, we're compiling what we believe will be one of the most comprehensive guides to what is happening, who is behind it, and where this is headed — because this document will be generating legal precedent for the rest of our lives. Today's piece is just the down payment.
But let's leave it here. Dan Patrick actually said one true thing at that Rose Garden ceremony: "𝘕𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳."
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻. Not a commission. Not a calendar. Not a DOJ memo, a court, a church, or a million bumper stickers.
Prophecy is not given to frighten us. It's given so that when these things come to pass, we believe. Which means the next items on the schedule are just as certain — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Keep His commandments. Hold the faith of Jesus. And keep watching.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆. First: Protestant churches unite with the secular power. Then: the papal sabbath enforced by the combined authority of church and state. The union comes first. The wall has to come down before anything can be enforced through where it stood.
That's why this report is bigger than any Sunday bill ever introduced. Sunday laws have come and gone since the Blair bill of 1888. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 — 𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁. This report exists to change what it means. Tear down the wall first, standardize the calendar second, and the "national act" she described stops being legally impossible. The deadly wound this power received in 1798 doesn't heal by accident. It heals because professed Protestants — American Protestants — become its biggest helpers.

Let's spell out the conflict of interest, point by point, because it's not subtle:
-𝗛𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. You cannot chair a religious liberty commission while calling religious liberty's legal foundation "a lie." That's a fox chairing the henhouse security committee.
-𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱. All 100+ handpicked. A commission that only hears from people who blame "separation of church and state" for their problems isn't investigating anything. It's manufacturing a court record.
-𝗛𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘆. A man who thinks the Establishment Clause principle is fictional cannot weigh the claims of a Jew, a Muslim, a Sabbath-keeper, or an atheist against a Christian majority. Those are exactly the people the wall protects.
-𝗛𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀. His own Ten Commandments law is being litigated under the doctrine his report tells the DOJ to dismantle. He is relitigating his personal legal battles with federal machinery.
-𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗱. His #2 donor's owner was vice chair of, and still supports, the institute publishing the Sunday-Sabbath calendar campaign. In any other context we'd call that what it is: an undisclosed alignment of interests.
-𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀. Mainly composed of Catholics and Evangelical Christians, defining "religious liberty" for 340 million people. It has already been sued over its lack of diversity.
-𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁. This isn't about bumper stickers. It's about a paper trail designed to reach the Supreme Court and stay there.

Here is where I stop and remind you: none of this should surprise anyone who's read The Great Controversy. The mechanism was described in detail:

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐈𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧?
It’s worth knowing who's holding the sledgehammer in this particular instance:
- Born Dannie Scott Goeb. Legally changed his name to Dan Patrick in 2004.
- He and his wife attended Catholic church starting in the 1970s. While he began attending and preaching at Baptist churches in the 1990s as well, his wife is still Catholic — a former teacher about whom almost nothing is publicly known, kept entirely out of the political spotlight.
- He has collaborated with Catholic organizations and leadership for years on moral and social issues.
- As Texas Lt. Governor he pushed the law forcing the Ten Commandments into every public school classroom — 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗢𝗝 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝘂𝘁. Notice that: he's using a federal commission to win his own court cases.

Patrick's second-largest campaign contributor in 2024 — second only to his own campaign committee — was Susquehanna International Group, at $750,000.
Susquehanna is owned by billionaire Jeff Yass (roughly 75% of it, per ProPublica's review of court filings and tax records). Yass isn't just a donor. He was the vice chair of the board of the Cato Institute, (called "the most prominent libertarian think tank in the world" by https://t.co/E8jdKlUorH) on its executive advisory council from 2002 to 2024, and 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮. Foundations seeded by Yass and his circle have poured over $25 million into libertarian nonprofits since 2016 — Cato chief among them.
Cato was co-founded by Charles Koch — the same Koch whose network has given at least $9.6 million to Project 2025 groups since 2020, tens of millions more to the Heritage Foundation over the years, and who is known to fund Catholic universities in the millions (Creighton, Catholic University of America) -- the same Koch who funds the State Policy Network, a network of state-level think-tanks that feeds policy blueprints to Texas legislators through the Texas Public Policy Foundation, which Dan Patrick has collaborated closely with as Lieutenant Governor of Texas. The Cato Institute just so happens to be listed on the State Policy Network website as a "participating partner." Their policies have a significant amount of political influence.
𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆'𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
No, I'm not kidding.
Since 2011, Cato senior fellow Steve Hanke — a Johns Hopkins professor who claims to be agnostic — has been campaigning for the whole world to adopt a new calendar: the Hanke-Henry Permanent Calendar. A fixed, permanent global calendar where the week runs Monday through Sunday — making Sunday the seventh day of the week.
And what does Hanke say is the calendar's great selling point, over and over, in sixteen years of Cato articles? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 "𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀." He says the earlier Eastman calendar reform failed precisely because it "did not respect the Sabbath." Article after article — "𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠" (2011), "𝑇𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐶𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑟 𝑅𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚 𝑉𝑖𝑟𝑎𝑙" (2013), "𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑟, 𝑂𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐴𝑙𝑙" (2018), "𝐴𝑠 𝑊𝑒 𝑈𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛 2021, 𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝐴𝑑𝑜𝑝𝑡 𝑎 𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐶𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑟" (2020). 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗼'𝘀 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵" 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 — post office workers forced to work Sundays described as a "violation of the Sabbath" that "brought down the wrath of many religiously minded people."
An agnostic economist. At a libertarian think tank. Spending sixteen years trying to hardwire a protected Sunday "Sabbath" into a permanent global calendar. 𝗦𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁.
Now — was this all planned in a back room between Patrick, Yass, Koch, and Hanke? I don't need to prove that, and I'm not claiming to. 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀. The human actors don't need to compare notes. The dragon doesn't hold committee meetings with his pawns — he moves them. Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy describe a genuinely coordinated end-time effort to subvert God's law through man's laws, papal and Protestant power uniting — and coordination at that level doesn't require conspiracy at the human level. 𝗜𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼'𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲.
What we CAN document is this: the wall is being torn down by one hand, the Sunday scaffolding is being quietly assembled by another, and both hands are attached to the same body of money and influence. Call that whatever you want. Prophecy calls it what it is.

Seriously. It's that big.
And while the world talks about data centers, Epstein files, and whether climate change is real, the actual story — the one prophecy has been pointing at for over a century — just walked through the front door of the Oval Office wearing a name badge that says "religious liberty."
𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬
On May 1, 2025 — the National Day of Prayer, of all days — the President signed Executive Order 14291 creating the Religious Liberty Commission, housed under the Department of Justice. Chairman: Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick. Vice chair: Dr. Ben Carson. Director: Mary Margaret Bush. Over the next year, the commission held seven hearings and heard from over 100 witnesses.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. Remember that. It matters.
On June 26, 2026, they delivered the final report to the President in the Oval Office with twelve key recommendations. And sitting near the top of the list: that the Department of Justice issue official guidance "clarifying" the Establishment Clause — because, the report argues, the phrase "wall of separation between church and state" doesn't appear in the Constitution. The report calls separation of church and state a "myth." It says religious liberty should be a "bridge" between church and state instead of a wall.
𝗔 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗼'𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟭𝟳𝟵𝟴.

This document is a clever mechanism. It is not a press release, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼 "𝗿𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻", just as Ellen White said. It's, for lack of a better term, a demolition permit for the constitution and bill of rights.
DOJ guidance becomes enforcement policy. Enforcement policy becomes court cases. Court cases become precedent. That's why it will take a lifetime of reporting on.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐝
You don't have to take my word for what this commission believes. Take the chairman's comments from the video below. There is no other way to slice it. The religious liberty commission and the report have one, central goal. Prepare for the unification of church and state.
At an April 2026 commission meeting, Dan Patrick said — out loud, on the record, as chairman of a federal religious liberty commission:
"𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝙡𝙞𝙚."
And then: "𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲."
Not one commissioner disagreed. Not one.
Then in June, standing behind the President in the Oval Office: "𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 '𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲' 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻."
This is a jaw-dropping statement coming from someone leading a report about religious liberty. The fact that those words could be spoken with serious intent tells you one of two things: either Patrick has no concept of religious liberty at all, or the commission was never about religious liberty in the first place. There is no third option.
𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 — 𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗦 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺'𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆. It's the only reason the state can't tax you for another man's church, jail you for another man's creed, or force you to observe another man's holy day.

Case In Point: Even Ben Carson Doesn't Understand The Separation of Church and State Issue
As further evidence to support this witnessing material on responding to the growing calls to unite church and state, we present an example showing that even Adventists can be persuaded by these arguments, despite more than a century of biblical and prophetic warnings that this very movement would arise.
Here is Carson in 2023 stating the separation of church and state is not in the constitution. Today, he sits as Vice Chair of the Religious Liberty Commission, which advocates for the unification of church and state.
We will cover Carson's position in much greater depth in future material. For now, consider it in light of what we have already studied: those who advocate for the union of church and state fundamentally misunderstand the issue, both biblically and historically. No one is immune to this deception if they set aside the plain teachings of God's Word. That is precisely why this subject deserves careful study, humility, and a willingness to let Scripture, not culture, politics, or emotion, shape our convictions.
The facts. The Justice Department's own page lists the Religious Liberty Commission's leadership as Dan Patrick (Chair) and Dr. Ben Carson (Vice Chair) — former HUD Secretary, author of Project 2025's HUD chapter, former Regent trustee, and a Seventh-day Adventist. In 2023, Dr. Carson said this:
Three years later, delivering the Commission's report in the Oval Office on June 26, 2026, Chairman Dan Patrick said: "The separation of church and state is not in the Constitution." Carson stood beside him.
WHAT HE IS NOW PART OF. That statement is the load-bearing premise of the body he now serves as second officer. Here is what it is asking the President to do:
>> Recommendation one of twelve: instruct the Department of Justice to issue guidance "clarifying the proper understanding of the Establishment Clause and separation of church and state."
>> Presidential proclamations of holy days and calls to prayer and fasting, bounded only by "the Nation's historical traditions."
>> Conscience and Religious Freedom Divisions in every federal agency, with power to investigate, enforce, and oversee remedies — replicated in all fifty states and internationally.
And Project 2025 — the Heritage document Dr. Carson contributed a chapter to — calls for a premium on Sabbath work, specifying the day "would default to Sunday." A fellow Commission advisor, Mark David Hall of Regent and Cato, notes that Sunday legislation remains on the books and has never been struck down on Establishment Clause grounds.
Remove the wall, proclaim the holy day, default the rest day to Sunday, build the machinery. Each step is public. Together they are the image.
"In order for the United States to form an image of the beast, the religious power must so control the civil government that the authority of the state will also be employed by the church to accomplish her own ends." — The Great Controversy, 443
WHY THIS MATTERS MORE THAN ONE MAN. It would be easy to make this about Dr. Carson. It isn't. He is a surgeon of extraordinary gift who by every account believes he is defending religious freedom. That is exactly the point. The error has reached the highest level of Adventist public life. A member of this church can sit as second officer of a commission alongside a Cardinal, four Opus Dei affiliates, and two Knights of Malta, repeat the argument our people have spent 150 years answering, and apparently not recognize it.
We should not be shocked. Ancient Israel had the oracles of God, the sanctuary, the prophets, and the Sabbath — and still absorbed the surrounding nations' ideas one at a time until they could no longer tell the difference. Truth has never made anyone immune to the spirit of the age.
"Protestants little know what they are doing when they propose to accept the aid of Rome in the work of Sunday exaltation." — The Great Controversy, 573
Little know. Not conspiring. Not wicked. Not knowing.
WHICH MAKES THIS YOUR WORK NOW. If a lifelong Adventist in the second seat of a federal religious liberty commission can hold this position, no one is carried by the church's history. Each of us has to understand this and say it plainly in our own words — because the argument is coming, it is getting louder, and it will be made by sincere people we respect.
Know why the wall exists, who built it, what it cost them, and what Scripture says about a church that reaches for the sword. Then say it, in modesty, in grace, in love, but say it.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.
Scripture defines its own symbol at the baptism of Jesus, where the dove descends and His ministry of mighty works begins.
“...𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙙𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙥𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙢.” — Matthew 3:16
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:
If the upper mural is the counterfeit of the story — false spirit, false bride, false child — then the dove is a counterfeit anointing: power given to a false day, working wonders to deceive.
“...𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤.” — Revelation 13:14
𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘟𝘛:
At Christ’s baptism, the dove was the true anointing, and only afterward did His first miracle follow. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀: the dove in the child’s hands is power conferred on a false holy day, and the power it confers is the power to deceive by miracles.
𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟯 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆 — great wonders, fire from heaven, miraculous signs done 'in the sight of men' — and that these are what deceive and move the whole earth to wonder after the beast. The false holy day, anointed by a false spirit, becomes the catalyst that unites the world under false pretenses. The intended result is just as the artist said the mural was meant to depict: "peace, security, and harmony."
And this is where the top of the mural and the center finally connect: remember that the phoenix's head reached up into this very scene. The bird that rose from the dragon's grave is joined, by the artist's own line, to the dove-anointed offspring of this false union. The healed wound at the center and the counterfeit child at the top are one unbroken story.

What the child is — named by Rome itself.
This is not an accusation leveled from outside. The offspring is 'the Christian Sabbath,' Sunday, exactly as the 1893 caption titles it. The significance is that Rome is naming its own child.
𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵.
There is no 'Jewish Sabbath' or 'Christian Sabbath' in the Bible — only the seventh-day Sabbath of the Lord, set apart at creation and uniquely prefaced with 'Remember.'

𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘟𝘛:
This is the most important and most overlooked piece of the whole mural, so it deserves the most depth. The power of the point is that it does not rest on suspicion: 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 ‘𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵.’ The mural paints a wedding and an offspring; the document supplies the offspring’s name. They interlock.
From the biblical side, the trouble is that there is no such category as a ‘Christian Sabbath’ set against a ‘Jewish Sabbath.’ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 ‘𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿’ — 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁. A world that insists there are two sabbaths, or none, is precisely the condition God warns His people to come out from.
That is why the child’s legs matter. One straight, one bent: a day that looks holy and is not, the holy and the unholy fused until they can’t be told apart. Sunday observance, in this reading, is the visible fruit of the counterfeit union above it — sun-worship dressed as devotion, which Scripture treats as among the gravest abominations (see Ezekiel 8). But the child is holding one more object, and it is the object that gives the counterfeit its power.

𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘟𝘛:
This is the plainest part of the whole mural. A serpentine figure in a tree, handing fruit to a reaching girl, with a frightened figure hiding behind — there is no honest reading of that other than the Fall of man. I'd say no one can look at it and claim otherwise without straining.
But the easy part is the doorway to the hard part. Eden is the origin of the two-seed conflict that runs through the entire Bible, and the mural places it at the very top, inside the womb, as the genesis of everything below. What sits directly beneath the Garden is where the interpretation gets specific and sobering: the wedding.
