A question for those claiming that Zim's problems are due to US sanctions. Did those sanctions make ZANU-PF:
--murder ~20,000 Zimbabweans during the Gukurahundi massacre;
--launch farm invasions that hamstrung Zim's agricultural sector, then parcel out many of the best farms to cronies;
--displace ~550,000 Zimbabweans in Operation Murambatsvina;
--support a dictator who oppressed the country for nearly 4 decades, then topple him in a coup;
--unleash violence around the 2008 elections that killed hundreds of Zimbabweans;
--steal billions of dollars of public funds;
--mismanage the economy so badly it experienced 90,000,000,000,000,000,000,000% inflation?
Of course not.
Zimbabwe's problems are overwhelmingly the fault of its governing elites.
Many Zimbabweans know this far better than anyone, which is why they periodically and boldly protest in the streets.
Until Zimbabwe's elites stop blaming others for problems of their own making, the country will struggle.
