How? Sectarianism was at the heart of this.
I'm an ordinary protestant who happened to walk past the courts the other day on my lunch break, as I do every day. I have a poppy on my coat and was goaded as a result of this one little symbol marking me out as someone they don't approve of. Most of this entire thing is driven by sectarianism and hate, and its not just just the sash they hate.
The fact they approve of the no backbone sorry prods is irrelevant. Sinn Fein's useful idiots, really.

@TirEoghainGael@markbtuk This can flip flop any way you want to play i.e. you tell me why anyone would want to sing provo songs given the trauma they have caused & given one of the pillars of your argument against is.....trauma?
It's simple. Tolerance and lawfulness.
I don't like much of what goes on, in fact I detest much of it. But I have to tolerate it otherwise if we take the law into our own hands it creates anarchy. It's is simple as that.
If the CoA decides in the residents' favour and the law eventually decides the other way, then we pipe down and go home. It's that simple.
The Orange Order have went from a District parade to accepting 35 men.
Two bands to silence.
Colour Party and Flags to District Bannerette.
Parade supporters to none.
Midday to 8am.
What have the GRRC mob offered? The threat of Violence??
Are we a civilised society in 2026?
It's not "anti" anything. It is a protestant fraternal organisation which upholds civil & religious freedom for all.
The town I live in today, is 97/98% protestant. It has a Catholic Church, but at one point it was going to close due to dwindling numbers of people attending.
The OO were involved in ensuring it remained.
The OO are also heavily involved in charity, family and community. My daughter attends arts & crafts at an Orange Hall near us during school holidays, for example.
I acknowledge that you cannot legislate for conduct of all individuals in ANY organisation especially during the toxic days, but on the whole the OO are just a bunch of normal, decent, family people who celebrare their tradition, friendship and social occassions.
It is inarguable that impasse and disagreements need to be resolved by lawful processes. Not anarchy.
Now please do stop. You're worse than my crazy ex π€£
1. Why won't the OO contenence an alternative route (eg dungannon rd-Corcrain Rd)?
To pacify intolerance? So no.
It's not reciprocated. Look at the antics in the GVR in the last week alone. There was a band gloryfying provos, kneecap who mimic "provai's", etc. This is nothing new by the way, this is very much the norm.
2. Why would ANYONE in their right mind ever WANT to parade through an area they are not wanted in?
That's a you problem. There is much that I don't want in this divided society.
For the umpteenth time, we will NEVER agree. That's why we need processes and law in place to govern these impasses.
I wish you would go away!
The antagonistic perception is a YOU problem. That's for you to deal with. The walk has been weighted taking all of this into account. 35 men, no loyalist bands, no flags, no supporters, 8am. The fact it is still antagonisitc is for you to deal with.
As stated before there is much that anatagonises me in this divided society but I have to deal with it within the structures set out in a lawful society.
Not true. The antagonistic view is what "the movement" has shaped you to believe, mostly. Albeit you cannot legislate for every individial in any organisation. But as I have said many times over, the OO parades and routes and practically static and predictable. There aren't random applications to walk here, there and everywhere. They have walked the GR for hundreds of years.
And it does protect its tradional routes. It has to, otherwise it will be chipped away at when it suits "the movement" to do so. It is also an organisation built on tradition.
Ultimately we can go round in circles all we want. The bottom line is it needs decided by processes and lawful means. This much is inarguable.
