As a comparison, look to EMPLOYMENT TO POPULATION RATE.

It is in DECLINE!

German Youtuber, Lucky L 030, went to Lyon, France to see what life was like there.

Of course, there's virtually no French people there and the military age invaders don't have legitimate jobs and are shooting AKs and pistols randomly in the city. I guess the French citizens are the backstop here 👀

I watched the full video and took a couple of screen grabs (see inset below) and one of the AKs appears to be a Zastava that was previously de-milled but it's clearly now back in working order.

Avoid military age foreign invaders and the cultural enrichment they bring accordingly...

It was booming, he said, when the housing market was booming, because typical families replace or buy new mattresses only when they move

But it has slowed every year since 2023, with 2026 being the worst yet

“We’re staying alive,” he said,

“Because we get just enough people who come in here desperate for good sleep who will spend upwards of $10,000 on a top tier new mattress. These big ticket sales keep us afloat”

The outlier luxury sales are pulling all the weight as underlying sales volumes deteriorate

That was the case in 1970s - where savings rate was 9-15%. Consumer could chose to dive a little deeper in the pocket.

Today it is 3%! The consumer does not have that choice!

Back then, debt was 30% of GDP. Rates could go to 20% without breaking the government.

Today, debt is near 120%. Every rate hike adds billions to the interest bill.

Keep rates high for years and the debt explodes. Cut rates and inflation wins.

The US has boxed itself in: fight inflation or protect the debt.

It can't do both.
