According to an informed source, Pakistan's military and intelligence agencies have allegedly developed a joint plan to assassinate Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The source claims that the military intends to use the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP/ISIS-K) as the alleged vehicle for the attack in order to remove him from the political arena.
The source further alleges that several JUI leaders were previously assassinated, with responsibility attributed to ISIS.
According to the same source, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had recently criticized the military's Afghanistan policy, the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan, and the disruption of economic ties with neighboring countries.

ایک باخبر ذریعے کے مطابق پاکستانی فوج اور خفیہ اداروں نے مشترکہ طور پر جمعیت علمائے اسلام (ف) کے سربراہ مولانا فضل الرحمان کو قتل کرنے کا منصوبہ بنایا ہے۔
ذرائع کا دعویٰ ہے کہ فوج مبینہ طور پر داعش خراسان کے ذریعے مولانا فضل الرحمان کو نشانہ بنا کر انہیں سیاست سے ہٹانا چاہتی ہے۔
ذرائع کے مطابق اس سے قبل بھی جمعیت علمائے اسلام کے متعدد رہنما قتل کیے گئے، جن کی ذمہ داری معمول کے برعکس داعش پر عائد کی گئی۔
