This startup has a plan to unlock housing market inventory
"The universe of people that would sell is just a magnitude larger than the universe of people who actually sell" says @amandaorson, founder of @galleon

Galleon platform upgrades this week:
☑️Suggestion form is now live. All feedback welcome (real humans read every message). https://t.co/KlGmkrF0E2
And sellers can now:
☑️Delete Photos
☑️Arrange Photos
☑️Hide Listings
From their account login pages.
There are ~145M single family residences in the US.
About 715k are actively for sale.
Only 1 in every 200 homeowners need to have a price at which they'd sell to effectively double the active inventory.
Our early survey results revealed it's closer to 1 in 10.
What's the best way to see houses before they come on the market? Assuming I need to find a realtor but hoping there is a better way to just browse myself?
We could tell you how easy it is to list your home on Galleon
...but we'd rather just show you. 👇
With photos and a price, you can list your home in < 2 minutes!

@mcspacface@amandaorson@NewsLambert Not at all. And thank you for flagging, that language was confusing. We've since changed it.
How you agree to purchase/ sell a home is entirely between you and the counterparty. We're simply saying that you, as the seller, can set whatever price you would actually take to move!
@hawaiianpioneer@amandaorson Quick update:
View is fixed (let us know if you don't see this!)
Adding Hawaii and Alaska are fast follows. Team is on it.
1. Zillow aggregates MLS listings.
2. Zillow earns the majority of its revenue ($1.9B in FY22) selling ads/ leads to real estate agents.
3. MLSes are gatekept by real estate agents.
4. Zillow is disincentivized to kill the goose that lays golden eggs.
We are fixing this.
Real estate marketing is easy.
My mom is downsizing and selling her home. I wanted to help her to sell it so I built this text message funnel.
The real estate market needs to be disrupted. @amandaorson would agree
@BowTiedCub Distribution / reach at first.
But we're playing a long game, and will win by being better at serving customers. Not agents!
That's our radical strategy.
Real Estate sales and the transition process is such a scam.
You give away 10% of your homes value just to sell it.
That entire process is something that tech should disrupt.
