@niccruzpatane@Drive_Protected For S Plaid it's a hundred step procedure.
Question - for Model 3 shown here, don't you have to disconnect coolant hoses and various electrical connectors before dropping the battery down ?
Big achievement for UP Tesla Plaid in year 2025 - 3rd place in @ProAutoSports time trial series, HL0 group (the field of 29 cars).

Trying to keep up with Radical race car at Firebird West track with @ProAutoSports
It's amazing how it can make sharp turns at speed. Almost spun out trying to do the same following his line ;)

Best lap time 1:01
Not bad for my first time at this track. Can clean up a few mistakes and probably improve on that lap time by couple seconds next time :)
Cleaning tires after last racing event and noticed they are covered in these small cuts or dents. Never seen this before. Wondering what could cause that - anyone run into this ?
@mediyanrs Having unprotected stone wall on the exit of that last corner is not conducive to driver safety, to way the least. Why would anyone do this on purpose ? Is this a real-life version of Death Race ?
Curb jumping in Tesla Plaid through 'Back Straightaway' turns at Radford Racing School track with @ProAutoSports.
Never jumped curbs in such dramatic fashion before-the whole car lifts off the ground and slams back down.
@UnpluggedTesla racing suspension held up well.

Tesla Plaid at Radford Racing School track in Chandler AZ with @ProAutoSports. The is technical but also fun.
Best lap time 1:09. A lot of room for improvement, but have to build more experience and comfort in sections where mistakes will sending you flying into a wall.
@Wisdom_HQ I'd say the blue line, because it maximizes your exit to the straightaway. But as many pointed out, it depends on a number of factors. While a line may generally be accepted as the racing line, not every car can do it. Ex: Formula lines may not work for stock cars and vice versa.
Tesla Plaid at AZ @FirebirdRaceway Mondo track configuration with @ProAutoSports.
Best time: 2:09. My first time at this track and prioritized safety over lap times - mistakes are costly with walls around. But lap time can be much improved with more aggressive approach.
@Rainmaker1973 I use similar racing compound tires, and what they show in the video is not possible. This does actually happen when a sticker comes off, and residual glue will stick anything on to the tire. But not with a natural tire rubber.
@rookisaacman Even worse, the culture of red tape and obstruction is getting progressively worse and not better.
What major event would trigger a course correction for us in the US ? Or is there no hope, and do we need to start learning Chinese ?
Sudden and substantial loss of downforce and traction.
To illustrate, if I'm expecting ideal traction to be 10 (on a random scale), I might get 9 or 8 or 7 if my tires are worn or have an issue, debris on the track, tail wind, bad corner entry, etc. It is manageable from the driver's standpoint, as you usually have a feel for it and leave some margin to adjust.
From what I read, active side skirts can take away that traction very steeply, so in my example it would go from 10 to 5 in an instant. From which you would not be able to recover.
@philroberts@Jolinar_cz@Sim89776996@youdontsayhmm@niccruzpatane Yep. Using the fans is effective, but McMurtry's range is 1 lap at full power. I'm sure the Roadster can do better, but track range is already less than half of gas cars.
Dynamic skirts were banned for a reason - not sure why it's a good idea.
