I am sickened that for 20 years, our foreign policy establishment has allowed the dictatorship of Azerbaijan access to *U.S. weapons* which are now being used to kill Armenian Christians. Now we’re hearing that the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh wasn’t enough & that Azerbaijan won’t stop until they’ve bisected Armenia and opened the Zangezur corridor to Turkey. TRUTH: those waivers would have never been issued without Azerbaijan’s $$ buying lots of lobbying power in D.C. It’s shocking how little attention this has received & the hypocrisy is astounding.
The crisis in Artsakh demands immediate U.S. action.
Today, I urged @POTUS to call an urgent U.N. Security Council meeting to stop the Azeri blockade.
And use every tool available to support the people of Artsakh and stop another genocide from occurring.
The Turkish aggression against Greeks and Armenians has a long history. Greece and Armenia are trying to preserve whatever is left of historical importance from Turkish aggressions – including their native lands, their cultural identity and patrimony. https://t.co/yUtmNePJzS
Footballer Olivier Giroud intends to donate the funds from the sale of his jersey to support Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
The AC Milan forward, who also represents the French national team, has put his jersey from the France-England match during the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup up for auction. Giroud intends to contribute the funds generated from the sale to the charitable organization Espoir pour l'Arménie, demonstrating his commitment to assisting the cause.
I stand with the Armenian community here in Los Angeles calling for an end to the blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
We must clearly demonstrate our commitment to freedom by helping the people of Artsakh.
This is a crisis and will only get worse with inaction. Lives are at stake.
