@mengesfc Hanging clothes organizer(s) to hold the t-shirts orgs give away. Coffeemaker (but check school rules about hot plates in the base). Amazon gift cards (the book store is the most expensive place to get textbooks). A nice multi-port USB charger or big power bank.
@steve_vladeck "In Pennsylvania, they've accepted ballots for 3 days past the election and we think it's been much longer than that." PA polls have been closed for less than 48 hours.
I guess the government stores the time machine next to the flying saucers?
We can now read the Imperial College report on COVID-19 that led to the extreme measures we've seen in the US this week. Read it; it's terrifying. I'll offer a summary in this thread; please correct me if I've gotten it wrong.

@nuclearkatie Surviving at the moment. More worried about the labs I have to teach and the lost learning potential. Trying to stand up systems that can automate some tasks, but there's no substitute for certain manual labors.
@nuclearkatie@UWMadison We got our notice here at NC State around noon today. All students have to be out of university housing by Sunday afternoon (except for special cases). Trying to work out how to film the labs the students were scheduled to do, allowing them to still learn the material.
@TrainerLana@TheSilphRoad They can only calculate it for new things since narrowing it down to a reasonable confidence interval (+-2%) requires a sample size of thousands of 'mon. Most people don't have thousands of 1+ year-old 'mon just sitting around to test this.
@nuclearkatie@KalieKnecht Hard same. I met one who was a separated fighter pilot & ex-smokejumper with a graduate degree in aerospace engineering. She had quite the story. Not sure I'd be qualified to be a park ranger even after nuke school.
@_BBern@USMNT Less tongue-in-cheek, he's supposed to handle personnel, working with the clubs to get players released during non-FIFA dates, other general roster management, and serving as an interface between 3G and the higher-ups at Soccer House.
@nwsltechsupport Whatever happened to Klingenberg, anyway? Went from Best XI of the 2015 WWC to not even getting called in. I remember an injury, but did I miss something bigger?
@KozlovichS@STEMculture Tupperware is good, but I personally prefer the plastic 16-20oz take-out containers others have suggested. Less worry about melting/discoloration when reheating. They are big enough for good-sized salads or layering a base food (lettuce/starch) under a protein to stretch it.
