@discuss_le28670@BobBurn97207272 Would you be interested in a good faith exploration of these points?
I don't disagree with some of the points your making, but the cause is a little more fluffy.
There is a cycle in Australian politics. Liberals govern, blow up budgets, and then from opposition spruik overspend
@JaohnAssmarz@evans_timbo@Ausbobsmit I mean... Trump is working fantastically right?
There is some irony that he has done more for the renewables movement than anyone in history.
@tazbatik@RositaDaz48 How does anyone buy this bullshit?
Shooting koalas from helicopter, it's laughable. Do you consider yourself to be a functional adult or do you have worms in your brain???
@15Graver@KatyKray73 It has nothing to do with what the contracts are. When you come into government and rip up existing contracts, nobody else is going to invest in your country, and then everything goes to shit.
These are basic concepts that a career politician should understand.
@15Graver@KatyKray73 She's been in Parliament for 30 years and still says things which makes it clear she has no idea how the world works.
Like claiming she would tear up contracts for renewable projects. That is like expropriation and would lead to foreign investors in ALL fields avoiding Aus.
@realRick_AUS@ArkadyArtemis It's a shit argument. A tax break makes investing in property more lucrative than investing in other things. That drives capital into property, pricing people out of the market.
Just because you take advantage of a broken system doesn't mean you can't make the needed changes.
@rockek_ricky@SteveWoosnam@PeteZogoulas They've changed their policy to fix something that desperately needs to be fixed, based on the calculation that they have the political capital to do it.
It's brave, and needed.
