I was reminded recently of how we (Mathew Mellon, John Perry Barlow, Max & Stacy) were about to send Julian Assange - who was under extreme legal pressure - some Bitcoin for his legal fund after the banks & PayPal had de-banked him but Satoshi asked Julian not to make an appeal, fearing the attention would derail Bitcoin. Julian complied.

Satoshi then went dark and we sent JA some BTC.

At the time, I thought this was why Satoshi disappeared and that he would reemerge at some point. He never did.
