📝 We led with the term “schoolboy stuff”, but having slept on it, perhaps that’s harsh on schoolboy footballers?

"This cannot be allowed to carry on. The owners need to swallow their pride and admit they got it wrong."

Burnley Football Club has dismissed Head Coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect.
The Board has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season.
“When things are good it is easy to support us, but when things are really bad it really shows the true fans almost. It’s a massive credit to them and we deserve every single bit of criticism that we get."
🗣️ Connor Roberts speaking after today's game
"Dire. You can’t sum it up to be honest. There’s nothing I can say that will make anything remotely better. Truly abysmal day for us as players, for the fans and as a football club. It’s far from ideal, but the only thing you can do is wake up tomorrow, try and do better next time and get on with it to be honest.
“I always make sure I go over myself [to the fans] and make sure that most of us go over as well and face what they’re going to say. Obviously at the moment it is not nice but it’s more than deserved and they’re well within their right to say whatever they want.
"We understand the emotions of it, but credit to them still coming out to places like this when we’re in the situation that we are
As I said on @Turf_Reports, we’re beyond must-win for Nicky Hayen, but something has to give regardless of wider issues.
It can’t go on like this.

As we alluded to here, it was always unlikely for Satpayev to start up front today.
The size and physicality of Lincoln’s three centre halves would more than likely have been too much for him to occupy on his own
Barring a strange system change, it seems Broja comes in up top

👥 FAN PANEL: Is this weekend's game against Lincoln City must-win for Nicky Hayen? Where do Burnley go from here if we don't win?

It can't go on like this can it, Nicky? It can!
Today's presser had a Mick McCarthy feel to it for Nicky Hayen. Just when you think things can't get any worse, they somehow manage to.

🔑 Key takings from Nicky Hayen’s pre-Lincoln presser:
- Josh Cullen will play 45 minutes for the 21s tomorrow night but could still be in the squad on Saturday
- Bruun Larsen faces 10-12 weeks on the sidelines
- Vardy is also out injured
- Admitted that players are too soft with each other at times
- If we had the nine unavailable players available to us, you would see that ‘everything changes’
- “You now have players that you have to put on because you don’t have anyone else”
- Admitted he might have to change the structure in the absence of a striker
- Refused to comment on rift between fans and board
“We’ll run for 90 minutes, no problem” - that would be nice, wouldn’t it 😬
