🚨🚨🚨Cyber Attack Alert‼️
🇮🇷Iran - Nobitex
Iranian cryptocurrency exchange Nobitex has allegedly suffered a cyberattack resulting in a loss of $48.65 million, primarily through suspicious transactions on the Tron blockchain.
The breach was first identified by chain investigator @zachxbt, and shortly after, the Gonjeshke Darande (Predatory Sparrow) hacking group publicly claimed responsibility.
The group warned that within 24 hours they would release Nobitex's source code and internal information, threatening further exposure of assets.
The attackers accused Nobitex of facilitating terror financing and helping the Iranian regime evade international sanctions, calling the platform central to Iran's financial operations.
Predatory Sparrow is the same group that previously claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Bank Sepah.
For the uninitiated, @MsftSecIntel has in fact previously confirmed LockBit has Chinese 🇨🇳 affiliates, which they track as Storm/DEV-0401 (aka Bronze Starlight) (https://t.co/0CsdZvWfrW)
