Just saw an Instagram reel that said:
“At some point you become the age that your parents were in your childhood memories, only you don’t feel like an adult, and you realize your parents were still just kids trying to figure it out too”
And that shit just fucked me up.
Life update!
We're moving to Australia next week! Haven't told many people, but figured I'd let everybody know where I'll be. This is about 3.5 years in the making, and we're super excited :)
Side note: I won't be working with Misfits Gaming anymore, closing out almost exactly 7 years managing the CDL team. A huge thank you to Ben and @JohnKracum for giving me that opportunity, and shout out to all the other amazing people and players I worked with over the years.
Stay safe and stay healthy, mates 🇦🇺🦘
The reason why?
Because Dolly Parton treated everyone as equals.
She didn’t care about race, gender, religion, sexual identity or political views.
She was a devout Christian, who believed in just treating people well, and being kind.
We need more Dolly’s in the world
-It is still Lake Ontario
-It is still the Gulf of Mexico
-It is still the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
-He is still a pedophile.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Some of the wildest stats in NFL history:
- The Bears have never had a 4,000+ yard passer in a season (106 seasons)
- All 4 of the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts Superbowls were played in Miami
- Larry Fitzgerald in 17 seasons finished with more tackles (42) than drops (29)
- During the entire 2014 NFL regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs did not throw a single receiving touchdown to a wide receiver
- The Panthers have never recorded back to back winning seasons in their franchise history, yet they once won the NFC South division 3 years in a row (31 seasons)
- The Buccaneers lost 26 consecutive games from 1976-1977. This was their first 26 games as a franchise. 0-14 in year 1, then they went 2-12 in year 2.
- Every NFC team has played in the NFC Championship game since 2010, except the Cowboys, who haven’t since 1995
- Ryan Fitzpatrick led the 2019 Dolphins in Rushing Yards (243) and TD’s (4).. Dude was 37 years old at the time..
- Tom Brady never played a game in his entire career where he was mathematically eliminated from the playoffs going into it.
- For his entire career, Tom Brady has a better chance of getting to the Super Bowl (47.6%) than Steph Curry has of making a 3 pointer (42.2%).
- The Jets joined the NFL in 1970. They beat the eagles for the first time in 2023.
- The Lions went 70 straight games without having a 100 yard rusher. This was during the Stafford era.. it started after Reggie Bush rushed for 117 yards on Thanksgiving in 2013. The drought lasted almost 5 seasons before Kerryon Johnson rushed for 101 yards in 2018..
- Mike Vrabel had 12 career receptions during his career, and every single one was a touchdown..
I love the Brady and Vrabel facts. But this is the most mind boggling:
“- Every NFC team has played in the NFC Championship game since 2010, except the Cowboys, who haven’t since 1995”
Kayshon Boutte says goodbye to New England
"New England, it's hard for me to put into words what these last few years have meant to me... I'll always look back on my time in New England with nothing but gratitude and respect. Once a Patriot, always grateful ♥️"
(IG: Kayshon)
This is 14-year-old Theodore Roosevelt Jr. in the White House greenhouse, 1902.
Forty-two years later, he would storm Utah Beach on D-Day.
The only general in the first wave.
His landing craft drifted a mile off target under German fire. He looked around, studied the map, and said:
“We’ll start the war from right here.”
Then he spent the day calmly directing troops, leading men over the seawall and turning the landing into a success.
General Omar Bradley later called it the single most heroic action he ever witnessed in combat.
In a sad turn of event, five weeks later, Ted Roosevelt Jr. died of a heart attack in France.
He was awarded the Medal of Honor.
From the White House greenhouse to the beaches of Normandy.
@Brisxi_@DestinyBulletn Then don’t play whatever it is dude. You clearly don’t care. So go away. Stop commenting. And jump back in your hole of misery and leave us alone lol.
I guess I don't really get the downside of everything being dismissed here. Project Sunrise may never be anything world-changing but it's a good, impressive effort and worth supporting. Hoping that Destiny as a game or a series or even just an IP could return is a valid response to something ending after over a decade. "Copium" perhaps, but it should clearly be understandable.
There's a reason I've talked about why this situation is such a rarity in the industry, where a series this long running and this beloved by a strong core is just blinked out of existence as a game and as a world. Other killed-off games did not have that kind of history and most were failures almost immediately (you know the ones). Other games that have struggled over the years have pushed through or they turned into something else, and at least their entire universe wasn't wiped out of existence.
He's right in that it is not illogical to tell people to move on given the current situation, given the state of things and how it's true that as a player and as a creator it will never be the same.
But that's the thing, it will never be the same. No matter how many other good games there are, replicating an experience like the last 12 years is almost impossible now. I'm in a totally different phase of life. I'm not saying I can't have fun elsewhere, but I will never build up that kind of time and connection with a game again. And, as far as we know, it's not just D2 itself, it's the entire world that grew out of these two games and could have been, could still be so much more. So, I will mourn. I will yell. I will cope. I don't know when I will stop.
@John_Halo2001@Brisxi_@DestinyBulletn I have other shit I play. I’d love it to be true. I’d love it to come back. If it doesn’t, I’ve got other things to do, but it would be a bright story.
@John_Halo2001@Brisxi_@DestinyBulletn It’s not just them though? Once again. We’ve all spent a whole lot energy hoping & begging for it to stay alive. Why are we all of sudden with a glimmer of hope trying to crush the hope?
@Brisxi_@DestinyBulletn We’ve all been pushing to get it back, and now that we might be we’re gonna manufacture outrage about it not being the same? Just be happy for 1 damn minute.
