This from my sister Juliet about lessons from last night’s England men’s defeat. She has a point. “Also the positive thing England men's football could do is to consult with women at all levels and in all positions and in more team sports than football, to find out how they win and continue to win. There is of course the Lionesses, but also the England rugby girls who never get beaten and of course they could talk to Tamsin Greenway.
The other people they could also talk to, look into what they do, are those involved in Australian team sport. They have the winning formula in just about everything.”
England fans before the game: into these, spirit of the Falklands, no surrender, Big Dan Burn, let em know you’re there
England fans during the game: ummmm ref they’re kicking us? They can’t do that!
We are seeing in this match why England so successfully colonised the world: a cultural addiction to violence.
Throw them out and let Scotland take their place. Show the world that not everybody on this island is a thug.
