Fantastic to discuss the Civil Society Covenant & explore new ways to strengthen the legacy of partnership working with London’s diverse civil society organisations. Together, from tackling child poverty to cohesion, we’re building a stronger, fairer and more collaborative city
A big day for charities with the launch of a Civil Society Covenant & partnership with the public sector to transform the way we deliver services for communities. Huge potential & huge backing from the top of government. Here with @CfYoungLives fellow @Tweethika.
This Volunteers’ Week I want to recognise the incredible contribution thousands of volunteers across London make to life in our city. We have some of the highest participation rates in the whole country. Volunteers are helping us build stronger, more connected communities.
It was such a pleasure to meet with some of our wonderful @TeamLDN#volunteers as they collected their King’s coronation medals
I’m always filled with pride & admiration whenever I meet our volunteers who freely give time to help others. They help to make London an amazing place
Thank you for the share @ProfKevinFenton and link here to the framework which we hope will encourage greater collaboration between health, arts and community organisations https://t.co/WaTlGxmnWp
How can we measure the impact of arts activities on our health and wellbeing?
For #CreativityAndWellbeingWeek - great to see this new Creative Health Impact Framework bringing fresh tools to support arts & cultural organisations communicate the transformative power of creativity.
Brilliant to see the @MayorofLondon@debs_wb#Lovedandwanted campaign celebrating the diversity of London. Warmed my heart on a cold, wet & windy day ❤️❤️❤️
Great atmosphere at the @CfYoungLives Event this evening in Liverpool and to hear @bphillipsonMP aim to put children’s voices and needs at the heart of policy making.
Coming 🔜 the Youth Voice Observatory a one stop shop helping the sector improve the quality impact and reach of youth voice activities. More background and info on how to get involved and share evidence & insights in my article below #youthvoice
Exclusive Woman’s Hour poll: 73% of mothers of children with SEND think the SEND system is broken.
We commissioned a survey of 1,000 mums across the UK who have one or more children with SEND.
58% told us they gave up work or cut their hours to support their child ⬇️
Proud moment! 🎉 @Raj_Chada, our partner and Head of @HJACrimeTeam has been named The Times ‘Lawyer of the Week’ for defending Trudi Warner, who stood up for juror rights in a climate protest case. Justice prevailed!

Great to hear @DCMS Secretary of State @lisanandy sharing her determination for choices and chances for every child wherever they live and whatever their background. Also impressed by her ability to weave in references to Engels and Take That in the same speech!
Rallying call to keep advocating really resonated. So much energy and ambition for change from the sector too…and even the rain held off for most of it!
Great to be at @CfYoungLives & @FoundationsWW reception and hear @JanetDaby talk so passionately about her commitment to changing children’s social care and @JoshMacAlister rallying cry to the sector to not take their foot of the pedal in advocating for change.
London would not be the best city in the world without the men, women and children who arrived from the Caribbean on HMT Empire Windrush on this day 76 years ago.
This Windrush Day, we shine a light on the Windrush Generation so that their contribution will never be forgotten.
In 2016, those closest to Jo lost their mum, daughter, sister, wife, friend, and colleague.
We all lost a talented politician and passionate campaigner, who was driven by her belief that a fairer, kinder and more tolerant world was possible.

“We are the experts of now and what it’s like to grow up today” our Young Evaluators set out why it’s so important for young people to be involved in research and evaluation. 🗣️📣 #youthvoice https://t.co/Pf4DP3TD0e
Looking forward to working with this fantastic group of Youth Voice Ambassadors @Centres_GWC to shape and deliver our Centre for Youth Voice #PowerofYouthDay#youthvoice
This #PowerOfYouthDay, we're delighted to introduce our new Youth Voice Ambassadors, who will be shaping our dedicated Centre for Youth Voice to create a lasting home and learning function for high-quality youth voice practice in the UK. 🎉
So delighted to see #Exclusion campaign from charity @ChanceUK getting the attention it deserves. Over 22,000 children aged six and under were excluded/suspended in 2022. #TooYoungToLeaveBehind
Deeply concerning to see the rise in primary school exclusions and suspensions highlighted by @ChanceUK @VanessaLongley. Important work to understand long term impact and urgent change needed to improve the system for all concerned. https://t.co/BXr04ujnAo
