@Shadel44@GoldRoseNET It's less about the implausibility that they have people who have worked on those titles, and more the fact that their own page just vaguely states "Team members have previously worked at renowned companies" instead of naming any names that would be possible to verify.
@GoldRoseNET $2000 Kickstarter goal and no mention on the page about having permission to use these brand names in the way they are. Even the most generous read of this project would be that they're in over their heads and are going to get buried in either legal or licensing fees.
@IamZzenithXD@Dexerto Yea but Umamusume was far from the first game to do that kind of thing. Calling it a Girls Frontline-like or a Kantai Collection-like would be just as valid, which speaks to the term not really being used to mean anything.
@DanteTaeBae@SerenesForest Might be that they technically exist for us to embody in some aspects of the game but are not a focus of the story in the same way Byleth was.
@TheTank128 @NoGCHUmaMusume Pick someone like Bakushin and just run races constantly throughout the career, buying cheap skills as you get access to them. You're not really aiming to make a usable Uma while completing that mission, you're just focused on that goal.
@EnigmaticGaymer@SuperNGuy I thought they were designed for the opposite? Wasn't the word going around that the proper game cards have a minimum size they can be manufactured at, so for games significantly smaller than that, game key cards are a way to not have to produce excessively large carts?
@NoGCHUmaMusume @Sacodoesbio Not MLB, just a single LB. If you have something that's one LB away from being very good (if you only got 2 of the Riko friend card for example), you could spend it on that. otherwise you can save it until a future opportunity.
@DarkSalxm So there's girls, and you're training them to run fast, and sometimes they goof around and do little skits with each other that somehow make their stats go up to do better at the running.
@Sugahri Pros:
- You have a physical card/box to display as part of a collection
- you can resell the card
Cons:
- you need to download the game off the internet and take up storage space on your system
- you need to have the card inserted into your system to play
@ObviousRises @Fuzzymo82150126 Yes. Convicted criminals. Who were given a sentence of something other than death. Hence executing them is a denial of due process.
@Brezals@RitsuRizer Counts as the same character for team trials, bond level, total fan count, legacy usage, etc. but will have a different unique skill and access to different skills via potential upgrades.
@Aru12181918@RowsdowerZapp@bongftah The real problem would be what to *do* with them once you have them in this setting. All of the Umamusume girls have stories and careers based on real life horse racing records, trying to insert fictional horses into that framework would be a bit messy at best.
@Aru12181918@RowsdowerZapp@bongftah Conceptually it wouldn't be that hard to make an Umamusume design for one or all of the MLP girls, and per Equestria Girls the concept of alternate universes already exists for that setting, so portaling in to Tracen Academy wouldn't be that much of a problem.
