@AbigailBassett My take is that this is post-Covid PTSD. Everyone is feeling some kind of burn out atm after we’ve all dealt with a massive existential threat unlike any we’ve ever faced. The world needs a year off on a lonely beach!
@ctrlcf@GayassGearhead@EdLoh A wonderful sentiment but not realistic imho. As all the major Auto OEMs continue to announce that they’re moving to all electric model line ups, what ICE power trains will exist in 5/10/15 years? What new cars will die-hard ICE fans have the option of buying?
@GayassGearhead@EdLoh Henry Ford said, “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses”. As true today as it was then. The peeps who say they don’t want an EV now will all change their minds and it’ll happen fast, because the power of progress wins out always
@GayassGearhead@EdLoh Consumers also didn’t initially want touchscreen phones (blackberry), software downloads (CD-rom drives), video streaming (DVDs), or wireless ear buds, but innovation won once the benefits outweigh peoples hesitancy to change.
@imrichardfertig Depends on size of crew (more people, more $$), filming interiors & exteriors or exteriors only, how detrimental it is to your STR biz (how many days it blocks) + there should be a location manager fee & cleaning fee.
@theSamParr Silence shouldn’t be the outcome, science over opinion ought to be the goal… And major media conglomerates ought to distinguish between the two. Everyone wants ratings/viewership/listeners/subscribers but that should be dictated by truth imho
@loudmouthjulia Imho the difference is that no corp invests $100-mil w/o fully vetting creator & their content. They knew what he said/believed, looked at the risks and made the deal anyway. They knew controversy came with the package & it was still worth it their eyes
@RonWechsler IMHO the problem isn’t the amount of content. It’s the lack of terrific personalized curation tools. None of the platforms have perfected search or prediction, so we spend too much time hunting vs watching. In Linear TV reruns intro’s us to old content. Now it gets lost in feed
