Someone earned ₹50,000 dividend from ITC today, and guess what? They’ll pay ₹15,600 in tax if they're in the 30% bracket.

Just to earn that ₹50,000, they had to hold 7,000 shares, worth ₹28 Lakhs!

That means even a ₹15,600 dividend = holding ₹8 Lakhs in stocks, and on that ₹8L, the investor already paid ₹3.6 Lakhs in tax just to earn it(assuming he is in 30% slab!

So basically, the Government milks your income first through income tax, STT when you started investing, and finally slaps you again when your investments pay off like Dividends and Capital Gains.

And here’s the brutal truth:-

1. The moment you enter the 30% tax bracket, the Government starts looting your income left and right.

2. Most hardworking Indians reach 30% slab within 5–6 years of their career… and will be there for life, unless they escape abroad, driven by pure tax terrorism.

This is not taxation. This is Financial Exploitation.
