I think they're most valuable if they aren't pulling the same stuff as everyone else off a news-wire. Finding "first" reporting, things not being blasted across every media outlet, etc. Not valuable: "Trump tweeted this" unless it's "we're actively bombing Iran again". Valuable: Here's an interview with a Kurdish leader in which he implies big things are coming".
