BNSF has hired one of Congressman Graves's aides right after he receives a political donation from their PAC. All of this happens as the Rail Safety Act is being considered. Graves is Chairman of the Transportation Committee and in a key position to block the legislation.

Why is HB-1030 Rail Safety important for Colorado? It limits the maximum train size to 8500' and limits the time spent blocking railroad crossings to 10 minutes.

A recent FRA letter reveals serious concerns about #railsafety on Union Pacific Railroad property. Despite UP's claims of safety, defect ratios on their network are alarmingly high, with many locomotives and freight cars operating with federal defects. What's worse? UP's reluctance to address these concerns, even resisting FRA inspections. Yet, during the last legislative session, Nevada's Governor @JosephMLombardo was swayed by the powerful railroad lobby, ignoring these risks.
