Meanwhile Tales of Xillia was fine having at least 3 of the party be 12-16 and even throwing a 14 year old off a cliff.

Remember that early Hugo had an NPC-like design before it was updated to what we got now.
Very likely that this is a rare case of fans liking a male character so much, HoYo decided to rewrite him to make him playable.

It seperates the trash that may still be worth something from the trash like you with a skill issue so high, the only FromSoft Game you should play is Monster Hunter Diary.
