Yikes, you seem triggered. No need to make it so personal. I’m not offended by your comments, but I’m not going to keep engaging if you keep trying to make it personal instead of sticking to the topic.
With that said, I’m impressed you provided some examples.
With that said, of the 20 you mentioned, I’d say only about 5 meet the criteria we were discussing, which is both false as well commonly claimed by critics. And at least half the claims you mentioned are statements you’ve stretched. Definitely not common claims by critics in 2026. Some of them have truth in them, but you’ve stretched them into statements that I’ve never seen anyone make. Again, unless you’re deep on reddit or somewhere else reading criticisms I’m not. I’m open to that possibility.
The vast majority of criticisms I see on X are historically accurate. We can agree to disagree.
The only one of these that’s absolutely false in regards to mormon beliefs is number 3. Most the others are too nuanced to yes or no.
The one that interests me the most is number six. You gave a difinitive “no”. But the idea of the Nephites/Lamanites being ancestors of the American “Indians” was one of the most central claims to Mormonism for the first several decades. Has the church completely reversed on this because of dna studies? Curious if anyome has insight on this… Genuinely curious.
Okay first you said “the vast majority” and then you said “literally all of them”
Idk if you’ve looked at the replies to this post, but so far nobody has been able to name a single specific one. Maybe you’re the same, but let’s try.
Specifically, what are the most common examples of anti‑Mormon takes that are false? Since it’s “literally all of them”, should be easy to name just a few. Let’s see…
@albion4truth@RandomLDS 100%!! I don’t know a ton about JW but I know that there are definitely similarities to Mormonism. This is definitely the experience with lds. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely stunning to revisit this post and see that nobody has given a single example of good or bad information.
This is the tried and true “all anti-Mormonism is a lie” trope that has existed since the 1830’s, except now they’ve figured out that if they’re vague enough, they don’t have to defend their point.
Absolutely incredible to witness.
@TravelbytheCoin@null__z0ne@RandomLDS You could be right.. I was just asking for specific common examples from antimormons that are false/probably from reddit
I’m just some dude who has been accused of using reddit by mormons after informing them of their history based on contemporary sources. Never used it.
When did you start using that trope? Do people really use reddit to learn about Mormonism or is that also bad information given with too much confidence?
@UCStanford@flintdm@Ch_JesusChrist lol, I was wondering how long it would take for you to compare me to Korihor. I’ve found that’s usually the final resort when someone fails to defend their claims. Classic.
Like I said, no substance. ✌️
@TravelbytheCoin@RandomLDS I’ve been accused of using “Reddit” more times than I can count. How long has this trope been a thing? The crazy thing is, it usually happens after I read the Joseph smith papers. The crazier thing is, I’ve never used reddit.
It’s not? But you won’t specify?
Also. “Intruded into” Lol This is a public forum. You decided to comment, and I did too. Nobody is forcing you to engage.
You seem upset that I challenged your claims.
You’re now attempting to shift completely away from archeological evidence.
I just wanted to hear some specific examples. You couldn’t provide them. It’s okay. I’ve actually been doing some research about different theories people have. I’m guessing you’re a mesoamerican theory guy.
Anyway, there’s not much substance here. Have a good one!
@stackerco@RandomLDS There’s a high likelihood he won’t clarify what he’s talking about.
There’s an equally good chance that his statement in itself is ACTUALLY poor information delivered with way too much confidence. 😅
@RandomLDS What are the most common examples of this you see?
Or is your statement in itself ACTUALLY the bad information delivered with way too much confidence? (I’m almost certain that’s the case)
@UCStanford@flintdm@Ch_JesusChrist The general existence of those four things throughout the Americas is your strongest evidence for the bom. Not a single specific. Got it.
And yet you still haven’t named a single specific city, road, temple, etc. ANYTHING.
The crazy thing is I genuinely was open to hearing what examples you had, because you said it’s “everywhere”.
Now it seems to me you had to resort to generalizations because the evidence doesn’t exist.
Oh well. I gave you multiple chances.
@grok Which specific Cities, Roads, Cement and Temples are archeological evidence for the Book of Mormon?
@UCStanford@flintdm@Ch_JesusChrist Nah, vague generalities are not evidence. If you’d like to provide at least one piece of specific evidence, I’ll give you one more chance. By your standard, this should be easy.
You’ve failed to provide anything, and now you’re trying to run from it.
Predictable 🥱
