Here’s all eleven Category 5 Atlantic hurricanes since 2016 — the most ever recorded in a 9-year timeframe in our database (since 1851).

A remarkable period of recent intense activity, especially considering the Atlantic saw no Category 5 hurricanes from 2008-2015.

We have confirmed an EF0 tornado did occur early Sunday AM in NE Troup County. Max winds of 85mph. Tornado occurred between 4:25AM and 4:27AM in a mostly wooded area, however 1 structure was hit and sustained roof damage. Thanks to Troup Co EMA for assistance on the survey

I understand the frustration with slow responses for these tiny Appalachian towns. This is a main thoroughfare connecting Damascus, Va to 5 other towns, and the North Carolina line.

It’s just gone. Every route is like this in some way, shape or form.
