@chahine_zena@POTUS we need more than a ceasefire, we need an arms embargo, BDS, and action from the UN. the blood on our collective hands in the west can never be washed away.
People attached to IVs being burned alive! For what purpose? This hospital was previously investigated. Or is there no need for purpose at this point? Senseless killing has been allowed thus far.
#MedTwitter speak up!
@POTUS speak up!
We. Must. Speak. Up!

It is with great sadness that KDIGO acknowledges the passing of Dr. George Bakris, an esteemed colleague and cherished friend. George was always a staunch supporter of KDIGO, generously sharing his wisdom on all matters related to nephrology, especially hypertension and diabetes management. His contributions were invaluable, and his absence will be deeply felt. KDIGO extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
@hswapnil@arvindcanchi a former partner would almost exclusively tell patients they need to go vegan or they will end up on dialysis. now that I've inherited those patients I've been able to make a great therapeutic alliance because I DON'T do this, so who's to say if pushing veganism is good or bad?
@Pathologuy2 Like most Americans, I see fault on both sides, and can only hope that the suffering of the Palestinian people ends and that Israeli hostages are released soon.
Calling for a ceasefire in occupied Palestine, calling for an end to systematic brutalization of an entire people is not antisemitism. Never again means now, and anyone who conflates the criticism of the state of Israel with antisemitism is your ideological enemy.
Just discussing this with @WHO

Use your professional privilege to support the liberation of a besieged people who deal with daily tragedy since at the first Nakba of 48. Especially those of us of the Jewish faith to continue to combat the real antisemitism of conflating Judaism and zionism as a singular entity
the will and dedication of Palestinian physicians and nurses like @drhammamalloh is commendable but it is important to remember - every sacrifice is a tragedy. the power imbalance and war crimes committed by an occupying force must not be ignored.
@caioqualunque probably more personal experience that makes me gun shy - similar patient presentation about a year ago, similar habitus, and after biopsy months of wound care to deal with issues from biopsy
#askrenal firm subcutaneous nodules in HD patient on dependent pannus/thigh, intermittent pain with position change, no cutaneous manifestations. treating as calciphylaxis given risk, but any benefit for needle/core biopsy vs punch biopsy since skin is clear?
