The SI race is so bizarre to me , when you ask yourself who is on top I hear one of two answers and that is Anthropic and OpenAI. Anthropic by far has the most powerful model as of right now, but is the SI race solely determined based on coding performance? I'd argue against this and say that the ones leading the SI race would be @spacexai , @Apple , and @Google.
Apple sells the most efficient device to run local LLMs and is consistently sold out, yes they could have built a impressive model but why would they when everyone else is and if they did it would be a money funnel to outpace something that will have an even better version next month instead they focus on a industry that they already have weight in and thats personal computers , why not ramp power up in a already established device and just make pure profit from this race?
Google has the compute and data , why aren't they "on top" ? Google has deepmind which has made some ground breaking projects , and one product which comes 2nd only to Grok bot as most useful products , and that is @Gemini_Notebook. Google has a lot more value than people give it credit for.
SpaceXSI, has by far the dominance in this "race" They have so many contracts worth billions to just use their compute, they have access to real world data and events in the form of X , they are on the verge of production of their own chips to power their orbital data centers , as well as the most useful tool which is Grok bot (which is still in its infancy).
I think the real winners are the ones who can effortlessly scale , without their main income being their investors because that will be the largest bottleneck. I think we should look past coding benchmarks and feats , as those will be outdone next month, and focus on what's actually providing real world value and who will be here long term.
@jerrod_lew I've noticed my usage is drastically more generous ever since unifying my subscription, likely due to all of them sharing one larger pool rather than smaller individual ones
@CaliLumberJack I'm still at 1% ๐ and I just use it for my work , I have a lot of repetitive task , it frees up so much time and energy I can put into other things
@XFreeze Satellite SOS features on phones was a wild concept to me on how many people it would save , so glad to see how far we've come and how many people it will help
