PSA: If I start talking about really random stuff I'm just getting the thoughts out of my head. There's very limited space and I need all I can get. 😂😂
@DanielW_Kiwi It's no different than saying you should buy your food from a local farmer rather than a big box store.
Sometimes you just want the "proper" experience.
@LoschbourStev Yeah. Pretty much. You know how I know someone isn't from Tennessee? They wear cowboy hats. If you're from Tennessee and you do wear a cowboy hat I assume it's either ironic or you're a moron.
@IBullyClankers @DelusionPosting Exactly. When you get beyond the number of folks the average person can mentally organize, ~200 if memory serves, then you start getting apathy. That's also why city folk feel so isolated even though there's a million people outside their door, but farmer Jim feels connected.
@Nichola34737006@MostlyMonkey In ritual Tennessee I get a mixed bag. I'll get some folks that understand my esoteric literature quotes. Then there's those that I have to explain what I thought were basic terms. I think it stems from a lack of curiosity rather than region or politics.
@IBullyClankers @DelusionPosting Honestly a family commune would be kinda dope. But it would absolutely require everyone to be onboard and not only willing, but genuinely motivated to help each other. Even then it only takes one generation of "I wanna do my own thing" to bring that system to its knees.
@ShamashAran@SouthernKeeks I'm sorry to hear that. It's a hard thing to want something so much and have no power to make it happen. My wife and I were almost in that boat too. Then our little angel came earlier this year. Love from Tennessee.
@MachoCrotcho22@4nt1p4tt3rn Check and see if your state has any "first time home buyers" assistance. That's literally the only reason I have a house. I didn't have to pay any down payment.
That said, I got my house in 2020 before things went crazy so YMMV.
The struggle is real, but you got this!
@Sean31511042677 @ShamashAran@GeorgeWept Demons can quote scripture. So trying to judge another person by the words they say, or don't, instead of their actions is kinda stupid. The Bible says, "you shall know them by their fruit." So we should be looking for good fruit rather than punchy slogans.
@wojakcodes Every man should cry. But we should also know WHEN to cry. When we're home or with people we trust? Absolutely. When we're overwhelmed in a boardroom? Absolutely not.
@TylerPenguin2 @ShamashAran@GeorgeWept Exactly. It's one thing to have that as your personal motto or something. But to say it for shock and awe? That's not something a mature Christian would do. Christ is not our cudgel to beat people with.
@ShamashAran@GeorgeWept Or maybe they aren't Christian and just trying to spread general disdain. Idk maybe that's just my conspiracy mind going nuts lol.
@ShamashAran@GeorgeWept I mean, Christ is king, but how are you going to say that in the same breath as an FU? Makes me question how strong their faith really is.
@_gumba1@Palakonweb A Kernel. You wouldn't be able to do much with it without GNU.
Linux is the engine and GNU are the steering wheel and gas/brake pedals. Together they make a complete OS.
@ShamashAran This is one of my few gripes with libertarianism. This and a couple other points is why I'm a minarchist rather than libertarian. Without (some) laws there cannot be freedom.
@ShamashAran The wife and I quite enjoy critical role. Not sure why someone who likes DnD wouldn't like them. Not to mention almost all of them were voice actors in stuff we grew up watching/playing.
