Early Career Investigator Award #ISTA 2023 NYC, Postdoc Orthopaedics @utwente, Research Collaborator @radboudumc #stryker, Founder @bioengtwente |Next: WCB ๐จ๐ฆ
Thrilled to share a highlight of the 34th @ISTA_meeting in #NYC with Scott Banks and Nico Verdonschot, who honored me with the Early Career Investigator Award for 2023.
Just arrived in Vancouver ๐จ๐ฆ to attend the #WCB2026, and what a great way to kick off by sharing that my latest paper has just been published by @IOPPublishing.

Happy to share that Iโll be giving two talks at the World Congress of Biomechanics 2026 in Vancouver ๐จ๐ฆ this July. Looking forward to presenting my teamโs work and the great discussions ahead.

Glad to have organized and hosted, together with @refai_irfan, the Biomechanical Engineering Research Day 2026 @utwente, centered around the theme โdriven by collaboration, defined by impactโ. We had a blast.
Three abstracts to the World Congress of Biomechanics submitted โ Really proud of my teamโs dedication and hard work, and grateful to be leading this.
Great discussions, cross-disciplinary perspectives, and lots of energy at the second Dutch Musculoskeletal Modeling Consortium Workshop. Fantastic to see our growing community advancing modeling together.
Was a real pleasure to attend the @ISTA_meeting in Rome. Honored to help organize the Young Investigators' Forum, and also present my work: "Deviating from mechanical alignment in TKA: are osteophyte-free knee kinematic and ligament strain restoration interchangeable targets?".
Welcome to Italy! Welcome to Rome! Welcome to ISTA!
Join the 36th ISTA congress in the magnificent Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, this September.

Thatโs a wrap on #ESB2025. Grateful for all the inspiring talks and developments shaping the future of the field. Kudos to @ETH for the fantastic organization.
Great pleasure speaking @ESB_Congress@ETH. I addressed the biomechanical consequences of deviating from mechanical alignment in #TKA, and further focused on defining targets for personalized implant alignment and their interchangeability.
Had a very insightful session at #Stryker, diving into the Mako pre-planning workflow. Impressive to see how many possibilities are readily available, and how such a robotic system can advance joint replacement giving more freedom for personalization.
Co-chaired the examination committee for the BSc mechanical engineering conference today. And I'm especially proud of my student, who did an excellent job presenting his work on defining a physiologically based pressure modulus for knee cartilage used in musculoskeletal modeling.
Just wrapped up our monthly group meeting before heading into the summer break with some great updates and discussions. Itโs always rewarding to reflect on our progress and look ahead together.
