@emerald1910 Hello. Rock bottom is good solid ground to build from. If you are getting buried alive, shake off the dirt the world throws your way and stand on top of that pile of dirt. Eventually you will step out into the light , albeit dirty but alive and kicking!
If you get caught with drugs & go to prison, & then get out & caught with drugs again, what they then do is send you to prison for longer.
Because that worked so well the first time?
It is and always has been obvious: The current system’s goal is not rehabilitation.
I have left my apartment only a handful of times in the past month and have still managed to lose 2 vapes and my AirPods case and quite frankly I am sick of my shit
The first time I saw NYC in person, I was 9. I immediately told my parents I was going to move here & stay forever. After that moment, I thought of little else. “Obsessed” is accurate, & I still can’t imagine living anywhere else — the only problem is, it isn’t NYC anymore.
I hope I don’t have a sudden death only because I have so many secrets that I want to tell that are the kind I can only tell when I have Stage 4 something and won’t be around for the aftermath of their exposure amirite
One thing I have learned with this deadly rare autoimmune disease is you are responsible for your healthcare and what you accept from the Providers. Just because they are a doctor or nurse does not mean they are right. I can’t tell you how many times a Provider almost killed me!
@GradInSoup Great provocation of grateful thought @GradInSoup !! My resilience is on the top of my list of attributes of myself I’m proud of. I got through the day and get to go to bed and God willing get to get up in the morning!
@GradInSoup guilt is for losers. The culture of medicine must change to benefit the providers and patients. Have faith and be confident in your works. Sanjay Gupta had wise words... treat the patient, not the lab results. You will never be guided wrong with this medical truism.
My mentor prefers a 12 hour, no-weekend working policy. So when I intentionally started taking Sundays off to relax, I felt guilty for not working.
My therapist later told me that I'm being the same toxic mentor to my inner self. That SCARED me.
Note to myself - be kind.
Reject the bullies and call them out on their BS. Nobody should suffer. I want the barriers I faced as an oncology nurse to be moved to make it more enjoyable to work in healthcare.
If anything this intimate partner violence has taught me that I am my own soulmate. People will shame you for saying no or doing what is best for your wellbeing. Leave that negative energy immediately. God has given us spirits that refuse to be broken. It’s called hope!!!!
Never compromise on your mental health. And please don't feel ashamed to get help. Self-love 101 is to be at peace with yourself and sometimes, that may require a little help from others. #MentalHealthMatters#PhDchat#AcademicChatter
