I confirmed from a reliable source this is all true, Kiev got absolutely hammered by Russian strikes. There were near-zero anti-air defenses that functioned. Widespread damage to targeted structures. As always, I'm praying for an end to this war, as both the Ukrainian and Russian people have endured 4+ years of this insanity, which was of course initially caused by NATO and the West, trying to overthrow Russia and pillage the country's resources (as usual, that the western model repeated over and over).

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has confessed he doesn’t sleep at night because of Russia. “Usually, I try to sleep. But if there’s something that keeps me awake, it’s Russia,” the Dutchman told Turkish newspaper Anadolu, pinning the blame on the “long-term nature” of the threat.

Bless his cotton socks. While the rest of us are counting sheep, Mark Rutte is apparently counting Russian hypersonic missiles & losing every time. The man who spent 14 years as PM of the Netherlands — a country famous for tulips, bicycles, cheese & minding its own business — now lies awake in Brussels staring at the ceiling, tormented by the big bad bear 2,000 kilometres away.

Let’s give the poor fellow the full satirical rundown he so richly deserves.

Born in 1967 in The Hague, Rutte studied history, taught social studies to teenagers, and did a stint in human resources at Unilever. He then entered politics, took over the liberal VVD party, and became Prime Minister in 2010. He stayed there for nearly fourteen years by being the ultimate political cockroach: surviving every coalition crisis, every scandal (including the infamous childcare benefits affair that destroyed thousands of innocent families), and every election by promising nothing grand and delivering exactly that. His famous line? “Vision is like an elephant that obstructs the view.” In other words: don’t think, just manage the decline.

Then, in October 2024, this master of Dutch polder politics — zero military experience, zero strategic depth, zero combat intuition — waltzed into NATO headquarters as the 14th Secretary General. Suddenly the guy whose biggest previous defence decision was probably approving new bike lanes for the Dutch army was chairing meetings about Article 5, nuclear deterrence, and the future of European security.

And how has he performed? By his own admission, he’s losing sleep. Russia — the country that has watched NATO expand right up to its borders, absorb former Warsaw Pact states, and then sponsor a proxy war on its doorstep — is apparently the thing keeping him up at night. The long-term threat, he calls it. Meanwhile, back in Moscow, they’re probably sleeping like babies after a hard day of reminding the world that great powers have spheres of interest and red lines.

This is the man who now lectures the world on resolve. This is the man demanding Europeans spend more, send more weapons, and prepare for a “long-term” confrontation with a nuclear power that has made its position crystal clear for decades. Ill-advised? Every time he opens his mouth he sounds like he’s reading from a 2014 Atlantic Council memo while the actual battlefield realities of 2026 unfold. Ill-trained? He’s a career politician & former HR manager, not a soldier, not a strategist, not even a particularly deep thinker.

His training ground was coalition arithmetic in The Hague, not the staff colleges where real military professionals learn that you don’t poke nuclear powers for fun. Unprofessional? A Secretary General of NATO publicly admitting that the adversary lives rent-free in his head — & in his bedroom — is not steely leadership.

It’s the geopolitical equivalent of a CEO live-tweeting his anxiety attack.

Previous Secretaries General had their flaws. Some were too smooth, some too bureaucratic, some too Atlanticist. But none of them ever came across as this emotionally fragile, this strategically shallow, or this comically out of his depth.

Rutte doesn’t just lower the bar — he’s using it to dig a hole.

We are witnessing, in real time, the most ill-advised and ill-trained and unprofessional idiot who has ever headed NATO. The clown car has a new driver, the checkered flag is waving & the only thing keeping him awake at night is the very country whose reasonable security concerns he & his predecessors spent thirty years ignoring.
