SBI is a student owned, student run not-for-profit corporation created to enhance the quality of student life at UB by offering various programs & services
UB has made a unilateral decision to eliminate a number of critical services that SBI provides to students. This includes free legal advice, a student defender program, a safety shuttle service, a student-run radio, and a ticket office with no plans to continue them.
“This is extremely unrealistic and extremely dangerous,” SBI members speak against decision to make FSA fiscal agent for student fees. Students will no longer have access to SBI’s free legal advice.

Earlier today a New York Supreme Court Judge upheld our Temporary Restraining Order against the University at Buffalo. A hearing is scheduled for July 24th, 2019.
A Supreme Court Judge has issued a temporary restraining order barring @UBuffalo from implementing the decision to remove @UB_SBI as fiscal agent for student fees. Any decisions already implemented must be rescinded, according to the TRO.
A NYS Supreme Court Judge has issued a temporary restraining order against the implementation of UB's decisions regarding SBI and recsinded any actions that have already been implementated.
At the last UB Council Meeting, Student Rep, Michael Brown spoke at length about the @UBCommunity decision to dissolve SBI. Council Members decided to ignore his request to discuss the matter further. Yet another example of how the University does not listen to its students.
The UB Council approved the decision to remove John Kapoor’s name from a UB building during Monday’s meeting. The meeting also featured student-led discussions over Sub Board I and a Living Stipend Movement demonstration.

UB Council meeting kicks off with student representative Michael Brown introducing incoming student representative Mike Montoro, speaking about freshman Sebastian Serafin-Bazan’s death and criticizing UB’s decision regarding Sub-Board Inc.
