The #CCMBucketHat headed to the Republic of Congo in January with @LinzyElton to run a 16S sequencing workshop and attend the CATCR steering meeting at la Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale (FCRM) in Brazzaville! It's first trip of 2026 and it made a new friend 🦍👀
Interested in learning how to combat infectious disease threats to humans and animals? PhD studentships available through the BBSRC-funded Wessex One Health (WOH) Doctoral Landscape Programme. Deadline 23rd January 2026.

Published! Our paper utilising #metagenomics to look at #pathogens and #AMR in the veterinary environment, and how it relates to clinical infections: https://t.co/iodhRMHPsb
The team at @ZymoResearch have written a blog about the use of environmental #metagenomics in two of our recent papers, highlighting its use for #AMR#surveillance across #OneHealth settings https://t.co/n0OPslKfJx
Some of the CCM clinical trials team joined the PanACEA annual meeting in Cape Town, South Africa 3-5 June. A celebration of all the work achieved, and a look forward to all of the things we can work towards with PanACEA3! @leticiamwildner@MaitraArundhati@LinzyElton
In our final video on #clinicaltrials, @LinzyElton
explains what a site coordinator does when they visit each of the labs! Coordinators work closely with the lab teams to help make sure that all work is being done according to the trial guidelines, making the data robust.
Next up in our series of videos on #clinicaltrials, @LinzyElton explains what a day in the life of our laboratory scientists looks like! We work with sites all over the world and each trial is different, but with many hundreds of #tuberculosis patients enrolled, it's always busy!
We're part of many #tuberculosis#ClinicalTrial studies, and site coordinator @LinzyElton has made a series of videos to try and dispel the myths about clinical trials! First up, a look at OptiRimox; why (and how) it's run, and why trials are so important!
(1/2) Are you interested in @nanopore sequencing? Want to do whole genome sequencing? Our postdoc @linzyElton has published a @YouTube tutorial video for the Rapid Barcoding kit (RBK114) to help you get started! https://t.co/bRXgHeG99g
(1/2) Are you interested in @nanopore sequencing? Want to sequence amplicons or do #metagenomics? @linzyElton at our partner site @UCL_CCM@ucl has published a @YouTube tutorial video for the Rapid PCR Barcoding kit to help you get started: https://t.co/IVXG4rCQ6T
The #CCMBucketHat made it to Kingston, Jamaica last week on a trip to run a sequencing workshop at the University of the West Indies. Phylogenetic trees were built and carbapenem resistance genes were found! Here it is at the Bob Marley museum with postdoc @LinzyElton
The #CCMBucketHat made appearances in Switzerland, Spain, South Africa, Gabon, Malawi, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Australia in 2024! So far it's made it to 19 countries and 6 continents in total, where will it end up in 2025?? 🤔
We're proud to announce a series of exceptional achievements by our own distinguished Professor, Sir Alimuddin Zumla @AliZumla@UCLInfectImm https://t.co/MB6W0p2v6C
