Sadly these comments will all sound familiar to #WomenInMedicine thank you @melissarayhill for the share and the compilation of things NOT to say to women physicians.
Before you say-- oh, I've never said anything offensive to a female colleague--please read this. Also, women often say some of the worst things to other women, so it's not just men. #womeninmedicine#timesupHC#microaggressions#metoo#MeTooSTEM#meded https://t.co/qEjIXyxcfn
Attention: Calling all potential co-moderators!
#WomenInMedicine chat needs your help to keep our weekly chats going.
So if you have a topic you are interested in please DM
@petradMD about how to become a co-moderator for a chat!
She will even help you craft your questions!
@traependergrast It helps to
-schedule breaks. Actually write “3-3:30: brisk walk/nap/Netflix”, and stick to it
-reach out for help. Your Med school has counselors and study skills specialists who can help you strategize and organize material
-shadow in a specialty that excites U
U R not alone!
Men are assumed to WANT the position or role. Women are assumed NOT to WANT that role or position.
“I doubt she will want that position. She has three kids.”
But change the pronouns to he, it sounds laughable. Unheard.

One of my PhD students is going to become a parent - any tips for how I can be as supportive as possible gratefully received (given I have no children and thus might miss obvious things).
