Today, I joined H.E @KagutaMuseveni and @GaviSeth at the commissioning of Africa’s largest medical storage warehouse with 30,000 pallet storage locations. It was funded by both @GovUganda (60%) and Global fund (40%). @nmsuganda will have office space, oxygen plant & gaurage
With storage capacity of over 30,000 pallet storage locations, the new @nmsuganda warehouse has been officially commissioned by HE @KagutaMuseveni this afternoon. This has been achieved with 60% funding from Govt of Uganda and 40% from Global Fund.
One of the largest in Africa, the facility will also house Offices for staff, an Oxygen plant with capacity to produce 100 cylinders per day, a 300kw solar system that will provide over 50% of the warehouse power requirements and natural lighting.
H E @KagutaMuseveni officially commissioned the new @nmsuganda Pharmaceutical warehouse and Office complex in Kajjansi. It has a storage capacity of over 30,000 pallet storage locations of warehouse space, a 3 fold increase of the current capacity.

This morning, we held a great engagement with the @GlobalFund Country Coordinating Mechanism Executive Committee led by the board chair, Andrew Musoke. We discussed coordination, funds absorption and strides registered in the health sector thus far.
On November 3rd, Hon. Minister @JaneRuth_Aceng officially commissioned COVID-19 procurement with support from @GlobalFund grants. @UGANDACCM handed over 2 speed boat ambulances, 3 cold chain trucks, and COVID-19 testing equipment to @MinofHealthUG
The NMS Board Chair, Dr. Jotham Musinguzi; UCCM Board Chair, @andrewcmusoke and NMS General Manager @NMS_ED, together with Board members toured the almost complete NMS warehouse yesterday. Construction is at 94% completion with an expected launch by end of this financial year.
The new @nmsuganda warehouse has over 30,000 pallet capacity and will significantly reduce the costs of warehousing creating savings that can be reinvested in more medicines for Ugandans. Global Fund invested $7.2 million dollars (40%) and Uganda government contributed the rest.
On October 18 2021, the UCCM Board led by the Board Chair @andrewcmusoke visited @nmsuganda to introduce the new UCCM Board and assess progress of the ongoing construction works of the new warehouse in Kajjansi. Thank you @nmsuganda Board Chair and General Manager for hosting us!
The @MinofHealthUG together with the UCCM Board members received the Torch from Kenya on August 20th, 2021 and handed it to Ethiopia on August 23rd 2021. The Torch Caravan will end at the sidelines of ICASA 2021, from December 6 – 11, 2021.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of @GlobalFund. The remarkable partnership has saved approximately 38 million lives across the globe. In commemoration for this milestone, a Torch Caravan to be passed across 20 African countries from June to December 2021.
