In honor of Indigenous People's Day, #GlobalUGRADPK's Zaryab embraced #culturalexchange at her first powwow. After meeting a Shawnee Chief, she shared, “Both Pakistani and Native communities have preserved their traditions and storytelling as powerful acts of cultural fortitude.”
Fatima Mehr, a Global UGRAD grantee at the University of Minnesota–Morris, impressed everyone with her vibrant presentation on Pakistani culture, leaving a lasting impression on her fellow students.

#DYK since 2010 #GlobalUGRADPK participants have volunteered 50,000+ hours in communities across the U.S.? @usd, Kazim chaperoned ‘An Evening with the Stars’ - a prom for people with disabilities. "I spent time with incredible people, and it turned into something so meaningful."
Muhammad joins 97% of #GlobalUGRADPK alumni who continue developing #leadershipskills in Pakistan. This summer he interned @usembislamabad with @StateINL, tackling international crime & narcotics; acknowledged by the local Police Advisor for his work on criminal justice policy.
Last year, #GlobalUGRADPK participants engaged in leadership activities in 70+ U.S. communities in 38 states, strengthening U.S.-Pakistan ties. Last week, Nayab & Syeda discussed local leadership with @mayorofgreenbay, calling it "a meaningful exchange of culture and goodwill!"
#GlobalUGRADPK participant Ali learned about the strong community spirit in Edwardsville, IL, by volunteering to restore over 100 furniture pieces for families in need, transforming their homes and fostering “a sense of pride and connection within the community".
