Meet the Researcher: Dr. Renee Cole is a professor at The University of Iowa Chemistry Dept. Her research focuses on issues related to learning chemistry and finding effective teaching strategies through active learning and the design of instructional materials.
Huge congrats to Lauren, Dalton, Leah, and Kevin for being recognized at the annual @uiowachem awards ceremony! They were recognized for their scholarships, fellowships, departmental duties, and more!
We are so proud of you and your accomplishments. Cheers to a great summer!
Congratulations to Lauren who was awarded an @uiowaicru Research Fellowship for the summer! This program allows current undergraduates to work on a specific project. She will be continuing work on looking at student’s reasoning of organic chemistry mechanisms!
We are beyond ecstatic to announce Johnny (our amazing postdoc) will be joining UW-Milwaukee as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry this fall!!!
The impact Johnny has had on our group has been incredible - we TRULY don’t know where we would be without him! UWM is so lucky. 🥳
We are so proud of Lauren and Dalton who presented today at the UI Spring Undergraduate Research Festival! We are incredibly lucky to have such great undergraduate researchers🤩

#CER100 Day 83 I read this comprehensive study by @vanessachemedu @LeahJinhee Cara Schwarz @UIBeckergroup & Ryan Stowe: more nuanced measure of learning found differences in outcomes of different instructional practices/emphases/assessment https://t.co/Z83kdTXM8x
Our most recent paper has been published in JRST! Grateful to my collaborators @LeahJinhee Cara Schwarz @UIBeckergroup and Ryan Stown for this study unpacking the limitations of defining our classrooms solely on how we teach. https://t.co/JVnO8OHpF3
