As with Starmer MPs from largest party can shield their MPs.
Cttee did not even look at the case so how can you say vacuous

Note Starmer dodged it by getting his MPs to vote against an investigation (re Mandelson).

@LukeTryl It is a very real by-election (even if called for no good reason) and other parties treating it as a joke, or a laugh when peoples representation in Parlmnt is at stake could not be a worse look (for me).

I object to Farage standing down, and in general believe a full term should be served.

But useful if MP changes party (agree on standing down then) and also may be other exceptions.

Keir Starmer lied about Mandelson's appointment but lucky for him his rivals were the minority

Need a better system to enforce the rules, one independent and one based on judicial levels of evidence etc

The reaction of broadcasters to Gary Stevenson's falsehoods reminds me of the way the old media indulged Carole Cadwalladr's conspiracies after the Brexit vote.
Both were allowed to peddle their deranged theories unchallenged simply because they were telling the liberal left what it wanted to hear.
