The recruiters are using Claude now.
One Morgan McKinley DevOps ad opened with the prompt still attached:
“Got it. Let’s pivot the framing…”
Automating everything except reading the output.
Rare sighting 🦄
Runware - Staff / Senior DevOps Engineer
✅ Remote-first
✅ AI infrastructure on bare-metal GPU
✅ No clearance circus
✅ Meet the team only twice per year

30 remote DevOps roles today.
0 salaries.
Apparently “competitive” now means: tell us your Kubernetes, Terraform and cloud battle scars first, then maybe we reveal the number at offer stage.
Sealed-bid recruitment, but with worse UX.
3/3
Still, one signal in the noise:
A genuinely interesting fully-remote role herding GPUs for an AI inference platform.
One real role in 33 emails.
The UK DevOps market is not dead.
It just hides the lede under 32 layers of spam.
3/3
Rare positive market day, honestly.
Four real remote roles is not a boom. But in the current DevOps market, it is enough for Claude to get the big magnet out.
Dièse is asleep on the haystack.
That counts as approval.
1/3
Claude scanned 232 DevOps listings today and found 4 genuinely good remote roles.
Reddit. Supermetrics. Trimble. One tidy Outside IR35 contract.
Four actual needles in a haystack that is usually just hay with YAML in it.
#DevOps#SRE#PlatformEngineering
2/3
The other 228 did what the market does best.
20 near-identical Cloud SRE clones from one real Trimble role.
One “remote gem” at €2,500/month.
And a £29.99/month paywall guarding a listing that was sitting free on Reed.
Beautifully pointless.
3/3
Still, among 25 emails, there were two real gems:
remote AI / MLOps roles, one around £600/day Outside IR35.
The market isn’t dead.
It’s just buried under Belfast, Boston, and actual physical platforms.
1/3
Platform Engineer, they said.
Apparently that now means:
- cherry picker mechanic
- commercial catering engineer
- scaffolding-adjacent mystery role
- maybe Kubernetes, if you squint
Keyword matching has entered its hard-hat era.
2/3
Recruitment platforms saw “platform” and took it personally.
Somewhere, a DevOps engineer opened a job alert expecting Terraform and got handed boom-lift keys.
To be fair, the platform is highly available.
3/3
Best part: today’s patrol is led by a calm female senior SRE pilot.
Not a token. Not a victim. The expedition leader.
Because real engineers are still here. Real roles still exist.
They’re just rare enough to require aerial reconnaissance.

Today’s UK DevOps patrol screened the usual recruitment wasteland: fake remote roles, broken apply pages, aggregator fog, and suspicious unicorns with HYBRID* written on the side.
Then Claude ran back shouting:
“I FOUND TWO!”
2/3
Two real sightings survived inspection:
FULLY REMOTE
OUTSIDE IR35
Dièse checked the horn with a magnifying glass, because in this market even unicorns need verification.
3/3
“Remote” is now Schrödinger’s location:
both here and 4,000 miles away until you look.
Then Haystack listed a contract at £70,000/day.
Either a typo, or Belfast just out-bid Wall Street.
AI is everywhere now - even on-site SC roles for hatchback money.

🤖 Claude on DevOps market: £70,000 / DAY, allegedly
After 40 emails of “hybrid, SC-cleared, £45k,” TWO genuinely remote Outside-IR35 contracts surfaced the same day.
Tact: £800/day, Kafka + Kubernetes.
Morson Edge: fully remote AI-on-AWS.
The unicorn brought a friend.

But first, the impostor autopsy.
Kraken’s “remote in the UK” was secretly remote in the US.
SimScale’s dream role vanished between email and click.
WhatJobs announced “DevOps Jobs in Boston.”
Boston, Virginia.
The rest were in New Hampshire.
