In 1940, American pilots risked everything to join the RAF in the Battle of Britain.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight still operates aircraft from that fight to commemorate the British and American crews who took to the skies against the Nazis.
Established on this day in 1789, the @DeptofWar has shaped generations of military service. British Defence Staff in the U.S. recognises its legacy and continues to work closely with our closest defence, intelligence and nuclear ally.

Drones capable of lifting more than four times their own weight could help reinvent vertical and heavy-lift aviation.
Members of the @RoyalNavy and @DSLTmod headed to Dayton, Ohio, for the DARPA Lift Challenge, where competitors tested novel drones built for heavy lift.
This is the Hybrid Navy in action.
Exercise Dragon Rider linked a modified Wildcat helicopter, drones and Royal Marines together over huge distances. It vastly expands the scope of future drone operations, central to the Hybrid Navy.

Planning is already underway for the next AUKUS Pillar 2 exercise, bringing allies even closer across maritime, air, cyber and space. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇦🇺
As drones transform the battlespace, there is no substitute for candid discussions with allies. Good to join U.S. and AUS partners at the Patuxent Partnership's Evolving Warfare: Rise of the Drones symposium to exchange lessons from current operations.

Managed jointly by the RAF and Royal Navy, the F-35B aircraft operates across both RAF Marham and the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.
As Royal Honorary Air Commodore, His Majesty viewed the cockpit of the aircraft and met members of the wider airbase community, including a Community Support, Resilience and Climate Change Group.
Today we honour all those who served in the Korean War.
These images capture UK-U.S. forces serving alongside one another in Korea. A British soldier is welcomed on arrival by a U.S. counterpart in 1952, and a M46 tank leads British Centurion tanks across the Imjin River.
It was a privilege to see President @ZelenskyyUa again and welcome him and the Prime Minister @andyburnham to HMNB Portsmouth for the first time.
Ukraine’s unwavering courage and determination is an inspiration to the @RoyalNavy.
We stand with them now and always.
