Only the Toronto Star could somehow try to spin Mark Carney capitulating to Trump on the Gordie Howe Bridge (and lying to Canadians about it) as being about Pierre Poilievre.
BREAKING NEWS
The Parliamentary Budget Officer has confirmed that the federal healthcare program used by rejected and failed asylum claimants is projected to cost over $1.5 BILLION per year.
This is far higher than what the Liberals have led Canadians to believe.
Conservatives forced an investigation at the Health Committee into the Interim Federal Health Program, and now the independent PBO has exposed just how out of control the costs have become.
Rejected asylum claimants are receiving supplemental benefits like physiotherapy, speech therapy, and home care while 6.5 million Canadians can’t find the basic service of a family doctor.
Canadians are rightfully asking why rejected asylum claimants are getting better health benefits than they are.
At committee, doctors testified that under the IFHP, doctors are charging up to five times provincial rates.
This raises serious concerns that the program is being financially exploited with no oversight.
The PBO will testify at the Health Committee today.
More to come.
True patriotism isn't about blind obedience. The current Government's attacks on our energy and agriculture sectors are pushing Albertans away and Canadians apart. To build unity we need real action and respect, not just empty words and threats.
Read my full op-ed in the National Post (https://t.co/cDrd08x7ET) on why it's time to change course and start charting a path that builds prosperity and unity for Alberta and the rest of Canada.
The Liberals want new rules that make it harder to hold Government accountable.
After we found tens-of-millions of taxpayer dollars going to insiders, we know we need more transparency, not less.
Accountability doesn't exist if the records don't.
Tomorrow Conservatives are proposing:
Barring non-citizens convicted of serious crimes from making refugee claims;
Ending sentencing discounts for the purpose of avoiding deportation for non-citizens convicted of serious crimes;
And repealing Liberal laws to make sure repeat extortionists stay in jail.
Let’s see if Liberals will adopt this common sense approach.
If non-citizens and asylum claimants choose to violate the trust of Canadians by committing extortion and other serious crimes, they must be forced to leave our country: https://t.co/9N4A4XlEu3
It's very sad how much cultural vandalism and damage has been wrought by the Liberal Party since the 2010 Olympics.
Let this serve as a rallying cry for those determined to restore the optimism and pride that not long ago was synonymous with being Canadian. 🇨🇦
I hate the framing that Conservatives are “fighting” or “instigating” the “culture war”.
Left wing governments across the West, but especially in Canada, introduced an entirely new subset of issues when they began pursuing a series of radical, ideological policies that took aim at the foundations of western culture and values.
You saw this with identity politics. Tearing down our history. Attempts to redefine gender as a social construct.
Conservatives weren’t the ones who took the basic moral framework and consensus of the West and tore it up.
The only difference now is conservatives are fighting back.
Almost a year since the election! Don't judge Carney by his words, judge him by actions:
- no US trade deal
- no pipelines approved
- weak bail & no sentencing reform
- highest food inflation in G7
If Canadians could eat speeches we wouldn't have 2.2 million at the food bank!
Today, we unveiled the official portrait, and paid tribute to the remarkable legacy of, the Rt. Hon. @stephenharper, Canada's 22nd Prime Minister.
Under his leadership, Canada had a strong and prosperous middle class, affordable homes and food, and earned deep respect on the world stage.
It was an honour to serve as a Minister in his Cabinet, to learn from him, and to call him a friend.
On behalf of our Conservative team and all Canadians, thank you, Prime Minister Harper, for your decade of service to the Canadian people.
Just found out Liberal MP Taleeb Noormohamed publicly questioned my patriotism and loyalty to Canada.
Well, while Taleeb was busy flipping homes in Vancouver and living in the United States, I was serving in Canada's military.
And while Taleeb and his Liberals were busy tearing down Canadian history, I was fighting to defend it.
I will take no lectures on patriotism from Liberals like Taleeb.
It was a great speech, the best I’ve ever heard from Pierre. Everyone I talked to afterward agreed.
It’s no wonder he got just shy of 90% on the leadership vote, a remarkable outcome.
The truth is Pierre earned it.
Canada is a land of opportunity waiting to be unleashed.
Potential that has been cast aside by a decade of Liberal policies.
Conservatives are ready to turn the tide and put affordability, safety, and opportunity back in reach for Canadian families.
And I believe @PierrePoilievre is the right leader to bring on that change. For Manitobans and all Canadians. 🇨🇦🍁
