On this #DayOfTheAfricanChild, we celebrate the impact of @KSRelief_EN & partners in Togo.
Through two consecutive vaccination rounds this year, 1.7 million children have been protected, helping build a healthier future for the next generation.
#DAC2026
This #DayOfTheAfricanChild, we recognize the vital role of safe water, sanitation and hygiene in protecting children from disease.
Together with vaccines, safe water helps build healthier communities and brings us closer to a future where no child is at risk of polio. #EndPolio
The World Cup unites people around a common goal.⚽
The fight to #EndPolio does the same.
As @Ckurlander writes, we have the tools, the partnerships and the experience to finish the job.

Children in eastern DR Congo could become increasingly affected by the worsening Ebola outbreak, UN agencies warn.
Although Ebola can be deadly, it spreads very differently from COVID-19, meaning schools can remain open.

I welcome the Technical Advisory Group’s recognition of the important progress being made in several key geographies across #Pakistan and #Afghanistan where stronger programme performance is helping reduce #poliovirus transmission.
These gains demonstrate what is possible when governments, communities, partners and frontline workers come together around a common goal.
But the message of the experts is clear: with the high season for transmission now underway, we must raise programme performance up to eradication level and seize this opportunity to fully stop transmission and #EndPolio.

Welcome to the UNICEF team, Lamine Yamal. ⚽💙
As the world celebrates football's biggest tournament, we're excited to have a new global champion for children.
Together, we can and we will protect children from illnesses we have the tools to prevent. #EndPolio
A new chapter. On and off the pitch. Today Lamine Yamal becomes a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
From street games in his barrio to packed stadiums around the globe, play has been part of Lamine’s story throughout his life. Now he's using his voice to stand up for every child’s right to play.
Because play isn’t a privilege. It's for everyone. No matter who you are, where you are from or what your life looks like.
This #InternationalDayofPlay, hear his message on why play matters #ForEveryChild. 💙
Polio has no cure, but it is preventable. Every child deserves protection.
With support from @KSRelief_EN, social mobilizers in Herat are raising awareness on Polio to ensure caregivers bring their children for vaccination.
Together we can #EndPolio.
On Day1 of Round 2 of the national polio vaccination campaign, 24% of children <5 were reached, over 65,000 doses delivered.
As we enter Day 3, let’s keep the momentum going. Parents & caregivers, bring every child for vaccination before 11 June. No child should be left behind
We extend our sincere gratitude to our donors and partners for their continued support and commitment. We are closer than ever to a #poliofree Pakistan.

Today I joined @mohzambia & community based volunteers going door to door as part of Zambia’s polio vaccination campaign.
What stood out most was the commitment. Long walks, hot weather, and countless households later, they kept going because every child matters.
#EndPolio
UNICEF delivers #ForEveryChild, thanks to our partners, donors and supporters around the world.
Last year, we responded to over 100 emergencies, saving and improving the lives of millions of children.
As a global community we must do even more. Children are counting on us.
WHO Botswana supports the Government of Botswana’s 2nd round of the nationwide oral polio vaccination vampaign (8–11 June 2026).
Let’s protect every child under 5! No one should be left behind.
#EndPolio#VaccinesWork#HealthForAll
Together, we can kick out polio from our communities and from the world. To do so, we must ensure every child is vaccinated against polio to stop its spread. Friday, 5th of May (end of the campaign/ahead of mop-up).
Chief Macha, Community Leader in Zambia is a proud children’s wellbeing champion 💙
Follow his advice and get your children U5 vaccinated against polio & other vaccine-preventable diseases.
