Excited to announce AFRITRAC, led by UNIPH and coordinated by EDCTP Association with St Andrews, received €1.3M from Global Health EDCTP3 to train 28 fellows and strengthen Africa’s disease‑modeling capacity for lasting impact (2026–2030).
UNIPH deployed FETP, LLP, and HIP fellows to Kyegegwa to investigate a measles outbreak. The 2026 cohort will develop tools, collect and analyze data, and collaborate with district health teams and VHTs to contain the spread.

US CDC DGHP supported FETP fellows through hands-on training and mentorship to strengthen leadership, EOC operations, and incident management for more effective public health emergency response.
Anthrax outbreak in Kazo (Dec 2025–Mar 2026) recorded 135 cases, linked to handling infected livestock and unsafe carcass disposal. Strengthening vaccination, safe disposal, and community awareness is key to preventing future outbreaks.
Day 4 concluded the UNIPH–Kenya NPHI visit with strong cross-learning on fellowship programs, strengthening Kenya’s readiness to implement diverse training tracks and build a skilled, responsive public health workforce.

UNIPH convened an RCT protocol meeting for the LINDA FAMILIA project, aligning researchers and Ministry of Health. Using CFIR, the study tests SMS and digital tools to improve antenatal attendance and maternal health outcomes.
