🔥 In Sri Lanka's tea estates, cooking has never been simple. For generations, women have gathered firewood by hand, breathed in smoke-filled kitchens, and paid the price with their health.
Now, 200 households in Nuwara Eliya have a new tool that's changing daily life: improved, low-cost cookstoves 🍳 Less smoke. Less time spent collecting fuel.
It's a small stove with a big impact, protecting women's health, saving precious hours, and chipping away at a cycle of poverty that's lasted generations.
Because sometimes, real change starts right in the kitchen 🏡💚

In Sri Lanka's Malwathu Oya basin, the "ridge-to-reef" approach is rewriting how we protect nature, following the landscape's own boundaries from Ritigala Mountain through the dry forests near Wilpattu, all the way to the Gulf of Mannar 🐠
Because deforestation upstream doesn't stay upstream, it reaches the coral reefs far downstream! That's why the Managing Together Project funded by @theGEF is led by the @Min_of_Env_SL and @UNDP in #SriLanka, together with @IUCN #SriLanka and the @SLRedCross
