HOT TAKE: you could do all the therapy and healing in the world but if you don’t have financial security, your nervous system will always feel unregulated.
the *President of the United States* is an actual factual stick-up boy who is robbing every single one of us blind in PLAIN SIGHT. IN FULL LIGHT OF DAY.
and you're worried somebody's gonna come to this musty country to buy shrimp on an EBT card.

My.

This has a clinical name. Revenge bedtime procrastination. And the ADHD version runs on a completely different mechanism than the neurotypical one.
A neurotypical person stays up late because they want more leisure time. The ADHD brain stays up because it spent every drop of dopamine it had on executive function during the day. Sitting in meetings, managing transitions, filtering impulses, remembering the thing you were supposed to remember. That burns through dopamine the way sprinting burns through glycogen. By 10pm the tank is empty.
But here's where it gets counterintuitive. The exhaustion is physical. The dopamine deficit is neurological. Those are two separate systems. Your muscles want sleep. Your prefrontal cortex is starving for the stimulation it was denied all day because it spent 14 hours on task-switching and impulse control instead of anything that actually felt rewarding.
The phone at midnight is the brain trying to collect what it's owed. Low-effort, high-stimulation content. Scrolling, short videos, rabbit holes. The exact profile of activity that delivers dopamine without requiring the executive function you already depleted.
The sleep researchers call this a "self-regulation failure." It's closer to a debt collection. You borrowed against your own reward system to function all day. The bill comes due at midnight. And the brain will not let you sleep until it gets paid.
Hunter Biden on Elon Musk:
“You’ve got some motherf-cker who’s made over $251 billion being a United States citizen, that got here and stayed here illegally before he got his citizenship, sitting here lecturing us on who we should allow into the US”
“Do not lose sight of the fact that Trump spent decades sexually assaulting with impunity and was rewarded for his crimes with television contracts and a supplicant press, while a coterie of billionaires lined up to put money into his greasy little hands.
Do you believe for a minute that the concept of due diligence was a foreign one to the lawyers at NBC when they drew up a multimillion dollar contract for a man who had been in the tabloids for literally decades - and who the New South Wales government had refused to allow to open a casino in Sydney’s Darling Harbor in 1987 due to his extensive Mob ties?
The Australian police cited Trump’s Atlantic City casinos as evidence of organized crime associations and advised the government it would be dangerous to do business with the consortium Donald had formed.
Or do you think the chance to make some Mark Burnett bucks with the bankrupt pretend-billionaire married to the former adult escort and his odious unqualified children was enough to make them look the other way? There was certainly ample evidence of Trump’s misdeeds and malfeasance by 2003 when ‘Apprentice’ was green lit.
Do you think Jeff Zucker, then president of NBC Entertainment and the folks in the C-Suite at 30 Rock were unaware of Jeffrey Epstein and his ties to Donald Trump? How about when Zucker left to run CNN where he completely ignored Trump’s ignoble past in the 2016 election, choosing instead to focus on the ‘ratings gold’ he has always known Trump to deliver.
It was a business to these folks, and it still is, while our democracy crumbles before our very eyes.
On top of this - witnessing our backsliding into a cesspool of division and the cult-like embrace of POTUS’s solipsistic dogma, a small but very powerful handful of people entrusted to serve our nation are giving into their pecuniary desires, instead of living up to their responsibilities.
What we have seen over the last year and a half is the apex of America’s greed, an orgy of overindulgence consummated by a chosen few.” https://t.co/NbxPp4Yd2m
Playing by the rules is something white folks told everybody else to do while they cheat.
If you think the rules will save you please wake up bc they’re changing them to benefit their fucked up causes.
Capitalism makes quitting your job feel like risking your life, because it ties your basic survival needs to staying employed. This system is predatory.
"Just because she's Black, she isn't guaranteed our vote"
Morphed into the Supreme Court saying "Just because you're Black, doesn't mean you're guaranteed representation or voting protection"
See how it works when you listen to influencers and don't vote?
We’ve essentially watched as the slave states, and children of the confederacy, have slowly and surely dismantled the union, civil rights and the constitution.
The fact we are going to have our first trillionaire before everyone has access to clean drinking water is proof our current system is not for the greater good but for the greedy.
“How can you stand against your own nation?!”
First of all, this isn’t a nation, it’s a slave colony
Secondly, the government is standing against its own citizenry
Thirdly, my loyalty is to humanity
There is no such thing as a “white race”. Whiteness is an ideology. It’s a barbaric legal system. Many colonized nonwhite people subscribe to it & uphold it because they are so thoroughly colonized.
They have more contempt for Black rebellion than white oppressors.
No Kings protest exists in a different political universe from leftist organizing
Leftists are focused on direct action & doing things that are responsive to reality
Like figuring out how we’ll feed ourselves when the food supply chain collapses this autumn,
or how to keep the govt from kidnapping us & our neighbors
or how to stop the growth of the US imperialist death machine
or how to end the multiple genocides happening
or how to protect ourselves when the govt unleashes all its military force against its own citizenry as the infrastructure collapses
This is not the same universe of thought as “who do we vote for months from now in an election we aren’t certain will happen, under a government that stopped following the constitution a long time ago”
