Deepotsav 2025 – The World’s Grandest Festival of Lights

Celebrated on 18th & 19th October, Deepotsav 2025 illuminated Ayodhya in a magnificent celebration of faith, devotion, and culture. The day began with grand festivities including the Shobha Yatra and the royal Rajyabhishek ceremony, depicting the glorious return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

As evening descended, the city transformed into a divine sea of light, setting two world records by lighting 26,17,215 diyas in unison and 2,128 Vedic scholars, priests, and practitioners performing the sacred Saryu Maha Aarti.

The night was adorned with fireworks, laser and light shows, projection mapping, and cultural performances , turning Ayodhya into an eternal symbol of light and spirituality.

Visit My State: Taking Uttar Pradesh’s Stories From Experience to Expression

Nearly 50 women entrepreneurs, investors and digital creators travelled from Lucknow to Varanasi and Sarnath from October 7–9 as part of Uttar Pradesh Tourism’s Visit My State campaign, organised in coordination with FICCI FLO. The three-day familiarisation journey brought together perspectives from fashion, sustainable design, hospitality, travel, education, wellness and digital communication, creating opportunities to experience Uttar Pradesh through its craft, cuisine, spirituality and living heritage.

The itinerary included the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ganga Aarti, sunrise cruise, Ramnagar Fort, local cuisine and interactions with the Banarasi handloom community. A key focus of the journey was the revival and promotion of the Banarasi saree, connecting participants directly with the artisans and traditions behind one of Uttar Pradesh’s most recognised cultural expressions.

More than a destination visit, the journey aims to create lasting connections between tourism stakeholders, local communities and new audiences, taking authentic stories of Uttar Pradesh into professional networks, digital platforms and consumer communities.

Rural Tourism Village - Gajasthal, Amroha, came alive through an immersive learning experience for 30 students, accompanied by three teachers.
The students explored Kali Mandir and Mahadev Mandir, listened to stories of the village’s heritage from a local storyteller, and experienced rural life through vegetable farming and field activities. They also interacted with a local artisan and participated in traditional pot painting, gaining hands-on exposure to the village’s craft traditions. Moreover, at Shobit Homestay, the experience continued with samosas prepared by local women, offering the students a taste of authentic village hospitality, local cuisine and community-led tourism.

ब्रज की पावन भूमि पर, जहाँ आज भी श्रीकृष्ण की लीलाओं की कथाएँ गूँजती हैं, वहीं स्थित है गोवर्धन पर्वत, कृष्ण की उस अद्भुत लीला का साक्षी, जिसने ब्रजवासियों को उनके संरक्षण और प्रेम का विश्वास दिया।

पौराणिक मान्यता है कि जब देवराज इंद्र के प्रकोप से ब्रजवासी भयभीत हो उठे, तब श्रीकृष्ण ने अपनी कनिष्ठा उंगली पर गोवर्धन पर्वत धारण कर ब्रजवासियों को मूसलाधार वर्षा से सुरक्षित रखा।
यह केवल पर्वत धारण करने की लीला नहीं थी, बल्कि ब्रजवासियों के प्रति श्रीकृष्ण के स्नेह, संरक्षण और विश्वास का संदेश भी थी।
आज गोवर्धन की धरती पर आते ही उस लीला की स्मृतियाँ मन में उतरने लगती हैं। यहाँ की परिक्रमा, पग-पग पर जुड़ी कथाएँ और ब्रज का वातावरण श्रद्धालुओं को कृष्ण की उस लीला से जोड़ता है, जिसकी स्मृति सदियों से जनमानस में संजोई हुई है।
