We are also excited to announce the expansion of the alerts we offer. Our platform now offers Red Flag, Fire Weather, extreme heat, high wind, and air-quality alerts for any address-specific location you choose. Link to the site is in the comments! #CAwx#Weather
The team at CWT has been working around the clock on our website this past week. There are tons of new features, with many more coming. Our primary focus in this latest batch of updates has been on the weather side. The site now features NEXRAD L2 radar data, address-specific data (including, but not limited to, hourly weather outlooks and nearby observations). CWT now also has its own custom HRRR Cross-Sections and weather products. This is only the beginning for us; the site is constantly evolving, so stay tuned! #CAwx #Weather
The Four Corners region continues to be under the gun by a historic sequence of extreme fire weather conditions.
Per the @NWSSPC- "Extreme caution should be taken across the fire weather risk areas this afternoon, as the previously mentioned weather conditions are very conducive to rapid spread/fire growth on existing wildfires and new ignitions." #COwx #UTwx #Wildfire
The CWT Discord server has been very active these past few days. Click the link below to join the conversation! We're also offering a custom role to people with real-world experience in wildland fire management and suppression. If you are red carded (wildland fire certified) and affiliated with a local, county, state, or federal agency. For more information, reach out to an admin on the server. https://t.co/2A5CBqEoMX
The #HummingbirdFire recently broke out in New Mexico and continues to spread actively across the Gila National Forest. With the ability to monitor the situation live using the @OroraTech platform, I have been following the fire’s evolution through satellite-based wildfire intelligence.
Satellite monitoring makes a world of difference: bringing detection, monitoring, and decision-making tools into one place for every stage of wildfire management.

Release Notes-CWT Site:
The team at CWT is proud to release the next batch of site updates. This is one of the largest updates in the site's history. The primary focus recently has been on updating and adding to our weather portfolio. Here's a list of what we have added.
1. HRRR forecasts for California
- fire weather composite, temperature, wind gusts, humidity, and smoke. All sourced from the CA Fire Pilot Weather Service.
2. Point Meteograms
-By right clicking on any location in CA, you load a HRRR meteogram for that point.
3. Fire Weather Snooper
-The NWS Fire Weather Snooper has been added to all eligible observation sites and active incidents across the state.
4. Spot Forecast for active incidents
-You may now view requested, incident-specific spot forecasts for all active incidents.

Here are some astonishing 3-day rainfall totals from Santa Barbara. To put this into context, this marks downtown Santa Barbara as experiencing exactly 500% of the normal rainfall for this time of year. This also puts them at 50% of normal for the entire water year from just 3 days' worth of rain. Absolute insanity.

Just experienced one of the most torrential downpours I've seen here in years in Santa Barbara County. I just gained around 1.5" of rain over the past hour, and my road is effectively a raging creek. Attached below is some of the footage from the cell that passed by.

The team at California Wildfire Tracking has been closely monitoring this Atmospheric River in our HQ, which is open to the public. If you'd like to get an exclusive view into our operations and talk with some of our team members, click the link below ⬇️

🚨🚨BREAKING🚨🚨
The @NWSLosAngeles had released their expected timing for the heaviest rainfall to occur.
SLO County between 10 pm and 2 am;
SBA County midnight to 4 am;
VTA County 3 am to 7 am;
LA County 6 am to 10 am.
🚨🚨#BREAKING 🚨🚨
The most significant October storm we have seen in more than a decade is currently en route to Southern California. It will drop up to 3 feet of snow in the Sierras, 4" of rain in the transverse ranges, and Severe thunderstorms along the coast.
This storm will be capable of producing rain rates in excess of @USGS Debris Flow thresholds for recent burn scars, triggering significant, potentially even catastrophic debris flows.
Now here's the most surprising aspect of the storm.
Due to the favorable trajectory of the low and very cold air aloft, this storm has the potential for some damaging winds and even tornados from Santa Barbara all the way south toward Oceanside.
With the highly sheared environment, impressive updraft helicity tracks, and sufficient CAPE, the @NWSSPC has highlighted Southern California as a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms.
(refer to images below)
According to the @NWSSPC -
"a risk of a few low-topped but strong storms capable of damaging wind gusts or perhaps a tornado. The main concerns will be after midnight."
🚨BREAKING🚨
The famous Carrizo Plain National Monument has officially been fully closed to the public, effective immediately. This is due to the rapidly spreading #MadreFire.
How about we get a little less talk and a lot more action? It's really quite simple. If you burn it first, there's nothing left to burn. Rx burns are considered sacred to many native nations for a reason.
