USABC hosted a roundtable with Caroline Vik, Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), in Washington, D.C.

The discussion offered USABC member companies an opportunity to engage directly with Ms. Vik on shared priorities in Southeast Asia, including strategic infrastructure development, regional connectivity and energy security, and strengthening critical supply chains. Ms. Vik also reflected on key trade and investment developments from her recent tour of Southeast Asia, allowing companies to share perspectives and explore opportunities for collaboration with DFC in the region.

USABC's 2026 #Philippines Business Mission facilitated high-level engagements with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., senior Philippine government officials and stakeholders, and U.S. executives to mark 80 years of U.S.-Philippines ties, featuring a reception co-hosted by U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Lipton and keynote remarks from Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

The mission advanced public-private collaboration in support of the country's ASEAN Chairmanship — including continued commitment to initiatives like the Strategic Action Plan and the Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC) — alongside dialogue on digital transformation, regional resilience, and economic growth.

USABC hosted a roundtable with Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang, alongside Barbara Weisel and private‑sector partners in Washington, D.C.

The discussion focused on US–Vietnam trade priorities and the Vietnam Wartime Accounting Initiative (VWAI).
Participants heard Vietnam’s perspective on key trade issues, while VWAI partners outlined progress and future collaboration. The Deputy Minister emphasized that accounting for Vietnam’s 500,000 unlocated war dead is a top priority for General Secretary To Lam.

On August 18, USABC presented at the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the 47th ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Meeting. Angga Antagia, Senior Director for ASEAN & Strategic Initiatives, highlighted USABC's work on ASEAN's food and agriculture priorities, including the Farm to Table Multistakeholder Forum, the USABC-ASEAN Showcase on Regenerative and Resilient Agriculture, and industry missions to Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The presentation spotlighted member companies' efforts across ASEAN to advance regenerative agriculture, promote farmer stewardship and safe input use, and expand smallholder participation in agri-food value chains. Proposed next steps include digital tools for farmers and new initiatives on the circular economy and regenerative agriculture, underscoring USABC's commitment to digital innovation and inclusive agricultural growth.

USABC participated in the Independent Advisory Panel (IAP) of the Focal Group on Circular Economy (FG‑CE) 1st Thematic Session on Promoting Circularity Principles in the Energy Sector across ASEAN, held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

The session provided a platform for public-private exchange on advancing a more circular, competitive, and resilient regional energy sector. USABC contributed private-sector perspectives on creating practical and business-enabling conditions for innovation, sustainable investment, and scalable circular solutions in this sector.

On August 17, as part of its 2026 Philippines Business Mission, USABC and FedEx organized a Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC) Roundtable Luncheon, convening senior officials from the Philippine government, the U.S. Embassy, and the private sector to discuss the LEC’s role in accelerating infrastructure development, strengthening regional connectivity, improving logistics efficiency, and attracting new investments.

The luncheon featured keynote remarks from Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque, welcoming remarks from Masamichi Ujiie, USABC Board Member and President for North and South Pacific, FedEx, and insights from U.S. Embassy representatives on the LEC and the broader Pax Silica vision as key drivers of U.S.-Philippines economic cooperation.

USABC further facilitated site visits to Texas Instruments Clark and the FedEx Philippines Clark Gateway, giving delegates a firsthand look at how U.S. investments are driving advanced manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain connectivity within the LEC.

This week in San Francisco, ITA held an Ambassador Roundtable at the National AI Center in partnership with the @USASEANBusiness and the Northern California District Export Council. The event included remarks delivered by Deputy Under Secretary Brandon Remington and Deputy Assistant Secretary Kelly Coldiron highlighting the American AI Exports Program, foreign direct investment, and trade with Asian partners, as well as a roundtable discussion on commercial opportunities, market trends, and priorities for U.S. business engagement in Southeast Asia 🤝🌏.

Additionally, Deputy Under Secretary Remington and Deputy Assistant Secretary Coldiron also spoke at a San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce event on expanding trusted AI through the American AI Exports Program.

From August 10 to 14, the US-ASEAN Business Council hosted its annual ASEAN Ambassadors' Tour, led by President & CEO Amb. Brian McFeeters (ret.). During the tour, representatives from nine ASEAN Member States participated in a series of curated programs in Ohio, Minnesota, and California.

These engagements provided the delegation with the opportunity to engage directly with thought leaders from the U.S. public and private sector on emerging investment opportunities, trends in health and digital innovation, outlook of global supply chains, and the importance of U.S.-Southeast Asian relations. The tour was made possible through the generous partnership of @atmo_ai, @Bitdeer, @solventum, 3M, @netflix, and @planet.

On August 10th, a delegation from the Việt Nam’s National Steering Committee 515 met with researchers from the US funded program - Việt Nam War Accounting Initiative (VWAI)- in Washington to deepen cooperation to locate and identify the remains of missing and fallen Vietnamese soldiers.

As a proud partner, the US‑ASEAN Business Council Institute supports VWAI’s mission by mobilizing private‑sector resources, technology, and training to accelerate this humanitarian work.
