The USSF Professional League Standards mistakenly place too much priority on cities like Chicago, Boston, Houston, etc over letting clubs rise & fall on merit. Domestic TV ratings & attendance has suffered as a direct result of their failed leadership & policies. #ProRelForUSA
It's the USSF/MLS/USL system. These local entertainment outlets only establish a surface level following with most fans. Any inconveniences cause major problems with attendance because the relationship between team & fan is primarily transactional instead of relational.
Do you wonder if your child is getting a good, quality soccer education? There are obvious things you can see, but there are some not so obvious things that can give you real insight. Learn more on #SoccerWorks Ep. 79. #USYS#USClubSoccer#AYSO#SAY#USSSA#USSF#USSoccer
Critics often make the claim there aren’t enough clubs to fill out an open system, especially at the highest levels of the pyramid. On #SoccerWorks Ep. 56 we look at the supply of clubs for an open system. #ProRelforUSA#EveryClub#EveryCity#Opportunity#Access
4. It's put up or shut up time. Existing leagues & clubs will show by their actions if they are truly serious about system reform & placing the good of the game above their personal interests & agendas. The time is now. We're watching to see who's real & who's pretenders.
3. The purpose of this series was to educate & demonstrate how to implement a full system that is open & FIFA-compliant. Starting a league for 10-12 teams isn't going to change things, but starting a system of connected leagues will revolutionize American soccer.
2. The league names NSL & NYSL are generic placeholders to remove egos out of the equation and keep the focus on the merit of the ideas. There are no official leagues called the NSL or NYSL lurking in the shadows waiting to be announced.
Because #USSoccer doesn’t have a system of connected leagues, divisional status as determined by the Federation is arbitrary. Building a better league/system is possible. On #SoccerWorks Ep. 40 we look at the perception of the NSL. #ProjectYearZero#USSF#MLS#ProRelForUSA
On #SoccerWorks Ep. 37 and Part 7 of #ProjectYearZero, we look at the NSL league calendar. The calendar holds the opportunity to exploit new revenue opportunities.
During the election I bought 100 tickets to US vs Bosnia and tweeted I was giving them away in the parking lot. People drove from 3 hrs away who weren’t planning on coming. It took 5 min for all 100 to go. Not a lack of demand, people are just being priced out.
The only thing holding back an open system that is FIFA compliant within US Soccer is the willingness to dream, the commitment to learn the process, and the courage to lead. Learn more tomorrow on Ep. 33 of #SoccerWorks. #ReformUSSF#ProRelForUSA#ActionsBeatLipService
